Also, I'm from the MSP area and it seems that a place like Mesaba might be a better bet for me since they are hiring street captains (limited numbers) and several FOs recently hired are being upgraded within a few months (of course they meet ATP mins, etc). Seeing that I also meet ATP mins I wonder if trying there would be better than sitting on reserve for 10-12 months (seemingly flying very little, according to this thread) and then still not upgrading for 3-4yrs at best....

Sorry, not whining just wondering if what I read on here is true.
If you can live at home go for Mesaba. Sorry if I came across as rude, I'm not on reserve so I'm not the best person to say if their flying a lot or not. All I know is It's getting harder for me to drop stuff off my line because of "staffing".

Yeah I'm flying a decent amount of time too now. I'm actually kinda not wanting to fly now. I kinda like sitting around doing nothing at home or in NYC. But then again, I actually like the city. So take our posts with a grain of salt. I'm sure if I were bidding to fly, I'd be flying a lot more too.

hmmm...I could see myself sitting back and pulling in guarantee, bartending, and hitting on NYU art majors at Starbucks on hard days off. I might start liking Comair for different reasons than I originally had for wanting a job there.

This is a little bit off topic, but what's the deal with these 3:00 AM ready reserve windows? I've never seen that before, did they just start this $hit?

3:00 a.m. ready reserve isn't new to Comair. I didn't realize they had gone away. Used to do them quite frequently, and yes, I was called out. Just remember 11 hour contractual duty day limitation.

Thumbs down

Im so mad, I referred a good friend of mine, he had like 1200 TT and 200 multi, after the inteview the interviewers told him to "send more of his friends up to comair from OSU", then they didnt hire him...... I feel so bad. IF they wont hire my friend with all that time, (hes a great guy) then who ARE they hiring? They have no claim to say "we cant get new hires" i just dont get it
