Wondering about compass.

If NWA were to furlough couldnt they basically cause every single pilot at compass to be bumped out of the way for NWA mainline guys to flow back since there is not a limit on the number that are able to do that.

I was curious about that. Can anyone answer that for me.

I can't believe you guys are talking about leaving. This is going to be a quick furlough, if any are furloughed. Delta has promised that we will still be flying for Delta after the merger, and will probably even help us. Delta loves us and wants us to do well. I can see a lot of aircraft coming our way very very soon. Time and time again, Delta has shown us how important we, Comair, are to their operation. I, for one, am not leaving. If furloughed, I will keep my apartment in Burlington and wait by the phone for the call back. The future looks bright and I'm going to take advantage of it. Ready To Go!

The top 10% of the Compass group is protected. So, about 25-35 guys. If NWA/DAL furloughs they flow back to Compass or Mesaba;only 15 can flow to Mesabe, because only 15 came up to NWA, thus sending the Compass guys to the street. Still worth the risk in my mind. From what I understand, GLA is taking a bunch of guys. So, you could take your licks there for 3 or 4 yrs and hope to get picked up by a Major or NJA or Cargo. The important thing to do, is understand this is NOT a vacation or a time to feel sorry for yourselves. Step 1 get unemployment. Step 2 get the 737 type with government assist. Or see how much the govt pays and get another type in a corporate aircraft. Step 3 get a flying job if that is what you still want to do. Keep your flight time current. That is my best info...

CA RYN---do not wait for DAL to f over Comair. Think about it, what good has DAL done for Comair in the last 5 or even 10 yrs? Lets See!
Taken flying away from.
Promised flying with cuts/freezes.
Taken into BR
you can all add on to this list if you like.

Get out while the getting is good. GET THE TYPE from the GVT.

Haha, no, I don't plan on sticking around. I'm to the point if I can't get a corporate gig, then I'm going in to Garbage Collection.

Gates 23/25 in JFK have been taken over by freedumb.... you should hear some of these guys try to talk on the radio. #1 half of the freedom pilots sound like they are NOT english proficent..... aka I cant understand their accents....

#2 when JFK clearance says stand by, on request, you dont call 4 more times and say "freedom ready to copy IFR to albany"

Spoof! Make sure you tell that to the CP right before you hand him a resignation letter.

Do you live in or near MSP? I think I know you - we mighta flewded together. Keith S is an ***. The company is a sinking ship and everyone needs to buckle down and get the hell out, unless you've got 15+ years there in which case you make too much and can't recoup your losses. Anyone else needs to be pounding the pavement and networking big time. Forget what Mesa is doing or whether they're going to T.U.... Who cares. What if they don't? The industry is imploding on itself and we've got nobody to blame but ourselves.
You seem to know something about this...

How do you apply? I looked all over that web site and couldn't find it.. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

As far as I know about getting a free or partially paid type rating, it depends which state you live in. I've also heard it is a pretty limited number and they can run out pretty quick. Check with your local unemployment office.

Sorry to all the guys that are getting furloughed, I wasn't too far behind myself and I wish everyone the best. I would start looking for a job right away. If there is anything I can do to help, please send me a PM, I have quite a few contacts in the aviation industry, especially if you are from the West coast.
