It doesn't matter what they (I assume you mean management) want. Contractually, IF such a scenario were to happen, a displacement and vacancy bid would have to open to allow those pilots to bid accordingly.

Mmmmm, I dunno about that. You might be actually buying into what management is telling you about 50-seat RJs being unprofitable and not even know it, lol. I'll offer that ANY aircraft is profitable if it's utilized and priced correctly which they are not. A 1/2-full MD88 going to CID is no more profitable than a full 50 seater on the same route.

A passenger traveling from CID-CVG-CRW should being paying a huge premium to have jet service from secondary market to secondary market through a hub. When airlines start gaining pricing power through mergers (cough, NW/DL, cough) then maybe you'll see appropriate yield generation but as it is now flying an RJ from LGA-BHM bypassing hubs is plain stoopid unless each pax is paying for the privilege which I'll bet they aren't. DL and NW are the worst offenders when it comes to sacrificing profit for market share and market presence. They'll never learn. But hey, I'm just a pylut.

Delta is a fly-by-night operation. They don't know what they are doing tomorrow until about 7:00 tonight. The 900 flying out of JFK is most likely the flying that they were projecting Comair to do if they were given the Freedom aircraft and possibly marketing just didn't update things yet. Also, isn't Comair changing to all 7000 flight numbers or something like that? This whole scare could just be a marketing practice.

Default Take your lumps now

I don't view the downsizing of our flying in CVG as a bad thing. The whole base will be downsized big time once the DL/NW merger goes through so this way we are just ahead of the curve and taking the pain now rather than later. Of course I'm a JFK guy so this is easy for me to say.

So my differences training was offically removed from my line next month and replaced with a reserve schedule and window that I would have never bid for. Is there anything I can do to change my reserve window at the very least and perhaps some of the work days I was awarded? I would normally be holding a line had the training not been cnx.

The best you can do is call and talk to planning to maybe move some days around here and there to best suit your schedule.

Moving 70/90 flying to JFK would be opening a new base. Our contract states what has to happen. A new bid HAS to be posted. No question about it.

LOL Good Luck! Yeah, planning would be who to talk to, but you would be more productive banging your head against a brick wall.

"Well, we already built you a reserve line soooo uh, you can make your request online."
"What about my reserve window? Can I get A6"
"No, we already assigned you A1."

seriously by all means try it yourself.
