I found it. If you go to the MEC website and look at the contract online, it is on page 301 and 302. It is a side letter called "Commitment Letter".

Edit: Page 301 & 302 using Acrobat Reader's page counter, not looking at the pages at the bottom of the contract itself. The pages do not coincide.

Yes. I believe the terminology used is "previously uncommitted or unawarded aircraft".

These airframes from Freedom are "previously uncommitted or unawarded aircraft".

New question:

Is this vacancy bid going to include the automatic secondary bid to backfill open positions? So it is possible to award an upgrade and then take it away when the next displacement award comes out.

I talked to RP in crew forecasting an planning yesterday. The reason there are only a handful of FO's listed in the bid is because there are still about 5 guys in the training pipeline for the 70. Also there will be a displacement bid shortly after this one closes and they think they will fill the rest of the 70 fo positions with the CA downgrades.

You can take the PATH train, it drops you off at the World Trade Center site. I think it costs $1.35. The PATH departs from Newark Penn Station, so you have to take a bus from the airport to get there..but I can't remember exactly which bus it is, maybe the 60??

Go to an information desk at the airport and they'll be able to let you know. The bus fare is like $1.50.

You can also take the NJ Transit which goes from Newark Penn station to NY Penn Station, but that's like $15 each way.

The airtrain at EWR goes to a new jersey transit stop. take it north to Penn Station...The line is Northeast Cooridor... careful there are 2 penn stations newark, and new york..... I always fly in and out of EWR bc of NJ transit and the airtrain... much easier to take the train to the airport than park a car and worry about which NY airport u might have to fly back in to....

Ok so with this new VB that's out, they currently have 1467 pilots on property. Adding up all the min values for staffing at the various categories i come up with 1390 for a minimum pilot number. Comair wants to be "fluid" with staffing, do you guys see NO furloughs at all, since the number to get to min would only be 77 pilots?

If ALPA e-mail is correct and they want to begin the recall in December than I see no furloughs. I still think there may be a few downgrades. The training footprint is still going to be pretty big so they will need to carry extra pilots for a month or two. That puts us through the end of October. Why furlough for 1 month?? Probably just offer alot of COLA's.

If the additional 7 900's that were supposed to go to freedom begging of next year also come to comair I think they will tell us they are trading them on a 1 to 1 for 50's no additional upgrades or hiring.
