everyone needs to chill... call your rep and theyll be happy to tell you everything that is going on... just got off the phone with a rep...

the union had a meeting with the company a few days ago... obv the furloughs were the number one topic...the union brought a laundry list of stuff to the table to reduce the amount of furloughs but the company rejected them due to the fact that the only thing they are interested in is keeping the 76 hour line value...(for those of you who dont know about this its an agreement brought by the company a few years back during bankruptcy that is expiring in Jan.) the union said no way... so the meeting was over with nothing resolved... the union has been calling bull**** this whole time and finally the company at the last minute cancelled the vacancy bid an admitted their bluff... Comair as a whole is losing 11,000 block hours in the next 6 months and the average pilot uses 52 hours(this info is from the company) so that results in 211 pilot assuming we are properly staffed...which were not... Also this number is before more COLAS/voluntary furloughs and a small bit of attrition the next 6 months... the company will put out an announcment in the early part of next week about the new updated furlough amount and info on the new displacement bid...

How stupid can scheduling be? They pulled like 8 of us in to do ready reserve tonight. And since at least 3 of us were on L2 windows we will be sitting it at the same time. Oh well..I hope I dont get reserve again next month.

I hope they have enough spare 70/90's and captains. I think they just want to abuse some long calls today.

One night toward the end of December 05 scheduling was pulling the same shyte. Delta cut our flying in Dec but we didn't furlough until Jan 06, so a lot of pilots on reserve and not getting used. So at the end of the month a bunch of us senior reserves started getting called in for 6pm-midnight readies.

One night they had 6 50-seat FOs sitting ready in CVG. That's just the number in the trailer, who knows how many we had at Danbarry or already home. One of us called to ask about an early release and they said no, they might need all of us. Of course there was only one captain sitting ready, so who knows what they had in mind.

SSDD.
