They need to get rid of most everyone in the G.O. and replace them with monkeys. We will get the same or better results and it will save the company a lot of money. Problem solved.

One could only hope. It would make sence. Mesa might realize they have no chance in winning the lawsuit, so they could get cash from the buy out. Delta would also save money in legal fees.

Win win situation.

Any one with connections to the Training Dept? That's usually the true barometer of what is going to happen. Are they ramping up or not?

Not sure if you work for Comair or not, but it's quite the opposite here. The training department gets most of their info from the line guys that come through. The SIM instructors anyway and the ground school instructors get their info from the chiefs and people that don't know any more than you and I.

Actually, while the instructors may not know what's happening, it's the tale-tell signs: classes beginning or being cancelled, part timers being called back to the sim or being sent back to the line, or hiring IOE guys, or it's put on hold. We usually see some kind of movement, before any announcement takes place. It's sort of like waiting for a gate. Is the plane there now have it's beacon on, or are they deplaning? My perspective anyway.

That's probably not such a good idea. I flew with an instructor a few weeks ago and he said "I just make up random rumors and see how long it takes for someone to come ask me in the sim...Hey, did you hear we might be....."

This is entirely correct. The only reason to cancel any bid, displacement or otherwise, is because they found out that they didn't need as many people as they originally thought. If new numbers came out that dictated more cuts, they would just put out another bid. It's no different than if they put out a bid for more captains and then found out they were getting more flying. They wouldn't cancel the previous bid so that they could award more spots, they would just put out another bid. My view is that if they are canceling the displacement bid, there are fewer cuts needed than they originally thought.

All that being said, it will probably change tomorrow.

Here is the scoop I received, Displacement bid was cancelled literally at the last second due to training glitches or in other words, uncertain on how they were going to handle it. In addition, another reason may be in there as well but he did not know. The revised displacements will come out Monday with a few less displacments and POSSIBLY less furloughs from list. The company is looking at going the cola route which would relieve them from training issues in long run. That is the reason why everyones cola's were honored in the revised list as well.
The unfortunate list of furloughs and displacements will still happen and should come out monday but to a lesser extent.
