MEC and MGMT sitll need to work out early buyout, COLAS, and voluntary F, so we should probably quit speculating and wait a week or so and find out what is really gonna happen. Also i wasnt here in '05 but if ive heard correctly didnt Comair threaten something like 400 furloghes and only 50 or so ended up being involuntairy? and werent many coming back to work just a few months after it began? take a chill pilll(preferbely one that wont show on a random test) say a prayer or dance around in a circle or whetever you do and just wait a min.
It is 300 pilots. Last time we furloughed in '05 mgt threatened for 300 positions. 200 were required, 125 took voluntary options and only 75 were kicked out on the street. The difference there was everyone who took voluntary options knew they would be back in 3 months... This time it could be indefinite... Dont expect many voluntary takers except for people really low on the list who do it so they can keep some bennies or whatever the package mgt offers...

So you dont have to go back and look it up, here is the excerpt from the email:
We are still making minor adjustments to the number of pilot and flight attendant displacements, but the fall flight schedule calls for substantial reductions - 300 pilot positions and 220 flight attendant positions. For pilots, the displacement bid will affect both CVG and JFK CRJ captains. However, we expect the largest impact to be in our JFK base for both work groups.

No one knows how much flying we will end up with if any when it' all said and done. Currently it's looking like approximately 25 lines in Sept. which isn't close to what there was before.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying MESA is not getting all the flying back at JFK plus some.

I thought you guys were getting a lot more than that. Were losing so much flying over here to you guys and for DL cuts that we are furloughing over here... Looks like I need to go to one of those Mesa job fairs...

They are optimistic about a normal schedule for us by October but that all depends on how things go with Delta. A lot of Freedom guys are probably just as ****ed about Comair losing the flying, I know several that were interviewing there.

MESA undercut all the regional airlines to win the Delta contract then provided Delta with a terrible performance and service. The reason why MESA can afford to be so cheap is because its employees agree to work for peanuts and undercut their fellow brothers and sisters in the industry. Guys and Gals, do not blame fuel prices and the economy for losing your job, but blame your brothers and sisters at MESA. You may rest in peace MASA after you go BK in the very near future.
If its not the price of fuel then.. why is UNITED, US Air, Air Tran, and just about every Carrier who is either out of business or struggling to operate its a DIRECT result of Fuel.. oh wait a min its all in my head never mind..

how much flying did you get in july and august compared to when freedom was flying? ive read comair didnt get any more flying then they did last summer (correct if thats wrong). 20 lines in september is not a whole lot of flying. def does not equal the 200+ furlough your talking about.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the union's email today makes it sound like they are refusing to work with the company to assist with the furloughs?
