While we're asking contract questions, I was just curious about one.
If I report at 0600, do 2 out and backs and arrive at 1800, can they tag me to fly for another 5 hours? Isn't there some sort of duty clause in there somewhere?
Also, In my August schedule, I am scheduled to work 20 days in a row, then 1 GDO, then work another 8 in a row. Does the contract have anything that permits/prohibits this?

The company can't schedule you for more than 13 1/2 hours of duty. You can be forced to go over that should the weather get bad or something up to 14 1/2 hours. Should you agree, then you can go to 15 1/2, but that is entirely up to the pilot for anything over 14 1/2. The company never helps me out, so needless to say I will never go that extra hour unless I desperately need the next day off and it was a scheduled off day for me.
I believe the company has to give you at least 1 day off per 7 day period. Please file an ASAP report if what you say is true. Do it soon too. By filing an ASAP report, the FAA will see that.
Again, please tell me your joking

I'm pretty sure he is kidding, 'cause he is just as sick of people asking contract questions, if they can open the damn contract themselves and read it. Nothing wrong with asking for clarification on something, but some of those questions have the answers right there in the contract or have been answered before.

I think the 15 min thing is an understanding between the union and the company. Yes, if they give you an assignment, the flight MUST be originally scheduled to depart within your window. If not, it is an illegal assignment.

Uh Oh! I just got a Corp Comm e-mail about LOA's. Let's see what it says.........? I guess LOA's will now be centralized and handled by HR. Looks like they're gearing up to offer COLA's to MX as well. Doh!

There is an agreement that 15 minutes is a reasonable amount to call scheduling back.
