I believe that is a grey area. If you get furloughed and then you come back I believe it is still current. You are still employed during the furlough. You may run into problems if you tried to use your ATP written while furloughed though because the reg may say that you have to be current. You would have to check on that though. Also, some examiners treat the written different ways when it comes to working for 121 carrier. If you go for your ATP certificate with ALL ATP's, they will make you retake the written if yours is only current because you are employed by a 121 carrier. If you are within the 24 months, then you wouldn't be required to retake it. Now there are a few examiners out there that interpret the reg a little differently and they will not make you retake your written as long as you can provide a letter from your 121 carrier that states you are currently employed with them.
Hope that helps.

Forgive me....I was off by 7. which means 193 of the pilots slots going away for now are on paper. Hopefully...
what about London's kitchen in LA? are you up for it?
we may have to take southwest since non-rev on Delta is to risky lately!

Would be nice however unfortunately the numbers are accurate. Parking airplanes is one part of the plan, the other is a drastic reduction or utilization of the airplanes left on property. This means slim but proper staffing. The worst news yet is speaking to my higher up, come October, there is more to follow however details are not being released by Delta as yet. Hope for a change of heart by DL but I doubt it.

Attrition Number for August Bid Packet
These pilots have already been removed from the new seniority list so your number on there is good.
CR7 CA - 1
CVG CA - 1
JFK CA - 2
CR7 FO - 1
CVG FO - 2
JFK FO - 0
So at this attrition rate it will take 42 months to make up the 300 furloughs

Nope that was pure rumor. There were two RFP's one was for a short term contract, which was for a years worth of flying, and the other is for a more lucrative long term contract. Comair turned down the short term, due to costs involved with leasing new aircraft as well as other issues. There will be a reciprocal trip up to ORD so the Comair VP's get to check out UAL's operations.
