Comair updates?

More news is coming. I think the comoany has a good feeling about our RFP with another..cough..(United)...airline.

It’s very encouraging to hear that we are getting more flying no matter how little it is or what type of aircraft we will be lying. I think the reason of keeping the 50’s for now is because you can not just replace 5 or 6 aircraft in one month. I’m sure the manufacturer has a backlog of orders, so it will take time to replace 5-6 airplanes. The question is, how many extra hours are we going to see at JFK?

Let me fire up an old rumor here and see how far it gets:
Perhaps now that 50% off all of our flying will be in the northeast, a Boston base is in order.
Hopefully Boston goes senior.

While the increase in block hours is nice, I would hesitate to call this growth, as Delta is merely giving back what they recently took away from us. Any thoughts on what "shifting 50% of our operation out east" entails?
I would have to guess a 70/90 JFK base before a BOS base, as there apparently will be more Skywest 900s floating around CVG in the coming months operating traditional Comair 70/90 routes....

Perhaps this is an attempt to make Comair more attractive to a potential buyer. Maybe Delta decided they don't want a whollyowned subsidary going into the merger.
Also...I believe that this is the first time I've seen the word "growth" in a company memo in the 14 months I've worked here.
