No it isn't. I thought I heard that it was somewhere in the $16/hr range, but I really havent been able to confirm that. Does anyone know of an APC type website for flight attendants?

One of the FA in the crashpad is making $25hr and she has been with Comair for 3 years. And yes they do start at $16 an hour their first year.

My first post, so see how it goes... I have flown the 900 three flights now and it performs really well. It flies just as a new plane would be expected and still lands pretty soft with little effort. The main differences come through its performance and the preflight planning aspects.

For the 900, Jeppensen doesn't provide runway analysis so all the support comes from Aerodata. This means that all performance numbers come from dispatch and the crew has to determine usability based on actual temp and pressure verses planned temp and pressure. The only difficult part comes when the density altitude is higher than planned by dispatch (temp higher or pressure lower than planned) and you have to get a whole new set of data. For this reason it is expected that ACARS will soon be installed in the 900s.

Thus the preflight planning isn't over with handing the release out the door. You have to actually use the V-speeds from your actual weight and assumed Temperature (I found it helpful to have the release opened to the TLR (Takeoff Load Report) Max Temp section with the planned temp and planned pressure highlighted).

The 900 climbs very well and doesn't dog out in the low to mid 20s like the 50 and 70. With 68-70 passengers on long haul flights it reaches 35,000 in 20 minutes. The airplane also slows at a slower rate than the 70, which is just a small consideration.

Hopefully everyone will have the opportunity to fly it, or at least see it while it has that new car Feel.

I'm debating putting a bid in for the 70/90..but i'd like an upgrade sooner than later (still a few years in the future)..how's the seniorty shaping up on the 70/90?..and probable upgrade times..if you're privy to that information.

I'm quite sure new hire FO's wont see the left seat for 4+ years. Probably a little more in the 70/90 which tends to run senior on the captain side

I begin upgrade training in December. I will have been at Comair for five years come November. This has been my first opportunity to upgrade (most junior captain).

As for your expectations? It's all dependent on your seniority. Before I made a change of seat, I would consider pay loss for two months at 75hr line values (1 month for training and an additional month on reserve). I would also consider relative seniority in the new equipment and the line I could achieve by looking at the line of the next senior and junior to me in the new equipment. Lastly I would consider the freeze.

If your not nearing the 1100 seniority number, chances are you will not miss any upgrade opportunities with a one year seat lock.

If you are so interested, the 70/90 will be doing AUS-JFK and JFK-AUS flights and the number of shorter distance flights has been shrinking steadily. The shortest flight segments I've done in the past year were CVG-PIT and CVG-STL, and I just did those within the last two months.

Keeping all that I said above in mind, I have elected to take the first upgrade opportunity presented to me even though it will result in significantly decreased QOL. But the wait has been long enough, and I feel change in the air.

As stated earlier, there are expectations of 60 upgrades come early spring. It could very well come earlier, but either way I think most pilots are looking at upgrading at the first opportunity.

That's just Comair's no motto. Kind of like XJet's "Ready Set Jet" Nothing really to read much into. No need to start unnecessary rumors.
