Building trips that start and end in DFW and ATL is not worth doing if the flying isn't sufficient to support it. I'm no expert on trip building by any means, but our closest chance at another base right now from what I hear is BOS, but when they tried to build trips with the flying we do now, they weren't productive enough to satisfy the contract and efficiently use the manpower that would be based there.

I'd love a base in BOS because that's where I'm from and where family is, but as a fairly senior captain I can barely afford to live within an hour of the airport.

So what gives with the PNCL deal? They're opening a base in ATL. ASA/SKW are already in ATL flying for Delta.

I'm not trying to be difficult or thickheaded, just trying to get ahold of some understanding of a company that I really wouldn't mind working for when the opportunity presents itself.

Shuttle America is also in ATL flying for DAL......

and as far as mgmt caring if FO's can afford to live where they are based...now that really made me laugh.......

Thanks Spooled. Thats what I thought was policy.

I'm not familiar with the PNCL deal. I can barely keep up with Comair and the airlines I want to go to
I can also tell you that there are airlines out there that have many crew bases. I think SKW has 13+. I think this is justified by having crew members in so many places giving scheduling some flexibility. I'm not sure how the trips are out of their bases, or why our company can't build decent trips out of more than 2 cities. Seems like every time I think I have something figured out in this industry, it gets turned upside down and stops making sense!

I'm also wondering why we're on our 4th president in 5 years

Does anyone know what the pay scale is for our flight attendants? A friend of mine is thinking of applying. Also, I assume all of the new hire F/As are going to JFK as well?

I heard that we'll be getting green striped 757's before the year is out. They'll have a comair logo about 3" high right beside and below the door.

So I've been playing with an anagram website. . .

Anagram for Delta Connection = Decal Contention

Although off topic, but favorite:

Delta Connection = Intend Too Cancel
