I understood that when I resigned that I would not be getting my money back, but was under the impression that if Comair shut its doors that anyone who paid into the fund would eventually get it back. Thanks for yet another screw job ALPA! People wonder why union membership is at its lowest levels in history.
That is straight up stealing. Hopefully these MEC members get the same karma they sow.

Who are the MEC members? I'd like to email them a piece of my mind.

Where'd you hear or read this at? Please provide a source. As I understand it, everyone that paid into it will be getting their money back minus any money paid out to the attorneys. If I am wrong on this I will gladly eat crow. But I'm fairly certain that I am not wrong. If you have the MEC resolution supporting your statement then please post it.

It's from the Comair MEC secretary treasurer. He told me all of this in an email. If you would like his email address send me a PM and you can ask him yourself.

He said to be eligible to get your money back you either had to of been furloughed or on the seniority list as of September 2012. The resolution they voted on for this was on September 7, 2012.

The resolution you speak of was for PCF money distribution, not merger fund money. Anyone that paid into the merger fund will get their money back. To be eligible for PCF money payout you had to be active as of September 2012. I think you misunderstood him.

Well that is good news, but I already lit my torch and found my pitchfork.

As luck would have it I am in the hay baling business. I could use a man of your talents!!

I was ready to light a fire when I found out last fall that I wouldn't be getting any money from the PCF, especially since I had paid $20 per check for almost 5 years at Comair. But after hearing the rest of the story that my former fellow pilots would be getting this money, I soon became OK with it.

This is all Bull. Completely false.

I'm not sure where this rumor is coming from but as is the case with all Comair rumors, it doesn't have a shread of truth.

Here is a copied portion of the latest newsletter...

Merger and Contingency Funds

*

The Pilot Contingency Fund process is now complete, and the money from the Fund has been issued to eligible pilots at the last known address they had on file with ALPA. If you were an ALPA Member in good standing (Active, Inactive or on Furlough) on*September 8, 2012*you should have received your portion of the Comair Pilot Contingency Fund. If you have not received your check please contact the Custodians at*[email protected] financial review of the Merger Assessment Fund has also been completed, and the remaining money transferred to ALPA National for the issuance of refunds to fund contributors minus the expenses of the fund this is expected to be completed no later than April 15, 2013.It is crucial that each member has his or her current address information up-to-date with ALPA.* Please log on to Membership Services at*www.ALPA.org*and ensure your mailing information is correct.* You can make edits online at the ALPA website, or by contacting Membership Services at 888-FLY-ALPA option

Here is my direct response communicated by one of the remaining guys involved.

As usual the rumor is false. *If you paid into the merger fund no mater if you remained till the end or left in a prior year your $ 240.00 minus expenses will be refunded to each member. *Your address must be up to date however with ALPA to receive your check. *This can be done online @*alpa.org*or by calling 888- fly-alpa option # 3. *We have turned over the money for alpa to issue checks which should be accomplished by April 15.I hope this puts the non- sense to rest.

Reminder to everyone - effective after tomorrow the pass benefits change to what they were supposed to be all along.

If you're wanting to purchase a "Fly Confirmed for Less" or "Even Less" ticket, do it ASAP, as unless you qualify for retiree status you won't have the option any longer. Any tickets purchased prior to the switchover will be honored (I confirmed with the Pass Bureau).

I apologize for getting everyone's panties in a wad. There was some miscommunication between myself and the ALPA guy I was talking to. What FG said is correct.
