We aren't talking about new hires training.
That is just for differences training, people who have already gone through initial and most (my guess) will have more than a year with the company. It takes about 2 and a half weeks from start of ground till end of OE to train someone from the 50 to the 70.

I don't believe comair has a high wash out rate, the training department is pretty good.

I would hardly call these "new cities". These are cities we have done in the past that we have "lost" in the flying shuffle with Chautauqua, ASA, etc...

Glad to see South Bend back. It's a great overnight. Fiddler's Hearth right next to the hotel is a great Irish pub. Awesome music and great venison stew in a Guiness base.

Glad you are recovering well, BlueMoon. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I left my laptop at home on my 4 day trip that I just finished up. It took me a minute to figure out who you were, but it finally dawned on me.

I don't they they flat out stopped listing them. They just updated the seniority numbers starting with the March bid packet, so they 'cleaned it up' in a sense. And so all the quitters were taken out too. So we'll see what it says for April. I know of a few that already quit.

no checkout=no notification...not sure if you would have to answer to anyone for it....I know I have forgotten to cehck out a few tiems and nothing came of it.[/quote]

Nothing really will happen everything in SBS is time stamped
if there wasnt anything that you needed to be notified of then there no problem if you dont check out.

however if you dont checkout and theres a trip the next day that we needed you to be pre-notified of and if we catch it and see that you didnt check out well, there lies the problem. Checking out early from a flight assignement prior to the 20 min relase you call in wont save you either wait the 20 min from block in and then checkout.

I have a ? for the pilots

I had a l2 who failed to call me the day before the start of his window during the call in time.

i waited till 1800 for him to call he never did before i give anyone an SD i give them and opportunity to make it right. I called him.

would you have done the same ?

I called because he had an assignment on his line for two days that he needed to be notified of.

Well it is nice that you did it...

Would I have done the same, probably not unless it was a new person or I had the time. It is our responsibility and we know the rules.

The first day on-line at Comair, I had a ready reserve and I read the "fictitious one minute flight" time that they put on it, instead of the report time (which is an hour earlier) and was an hour late. Crew Scheduling calls my house wondering where I am at, then I realize wow I F@#$ed up. The lady gave me a break and just assigned me a flight to work and it left on time, I appreciated it.

and really getting an SD once for something like that is not a big deal...If you truly forgot, you probably won't forget again for a long time. Do it more than a couple times then obviously your in for some trouble.

what to do what to do...stay cvg...go jfk...bid 70...hmmmm?
Well CA bid packets are out for jfk and so far all that happened was a drop back to February's levels. Loss of about 600 hours from march puts it at almost identical block hours from February. Not a hit on you because I know crew forecasting and planning told you this. Maybe the loss will come in may. Or in cvg?

I dont know why they were offering all of those cola's to jfk fo's im sure we will be short staffed next month now.

On a different note. Anyone hear the rumor of United express flying in ORD.(at the expense of mesa) Maybe thats what the company wide conference call is about on the 11th. This of course is all speculation from the cousin of the brother of savaggio's maid who overheard the conversation the dog sitter was having with his mother, whos daughter is dating the head of united express operations.

Who read it on the back of a tarot card given to her by a Jehovah's Witness on 45th and Broadway.

I heard this, but it was from another fellow inmate..so it probably came down the same pipe...It'd be nice.

I'm thinking that it's an announcement that Comair is to go the way of BigSky/Skyway and cease flight operations to be the best darn ground handling company in the milky way galaxy.

Or, that Tater Tot Tuesdays will be moved to Thursdays, to make way for Turnip Tuesdays, which is cheaper than taters...and rich in Fiber so we can pass the Kool-Aid faster.
