I don't know the answer to that question.
At most properties, the first time you hear about a corporate action is a "courtesy" call to the MEC Chairman late the night prior to the corporate announcement. If they were to know in advance of the announcement, they would have to sign SEC non-disclosure agreements (insider trading), but they would at least have the access necessary to influence a management decision. That's a big leap, from being told what's happening to participating at any level in shaping what's going to happen. I believe your MEC is having an effect.

Hey R, what's going on?.
First of all, this is ludicrous.
Seems like we can't have a day of peace and quiet around here. There's always someone(s) that can't just accept that. My take on this latest BAD RUMOR (and that's what it is), our flight schedule is set until at least Feb 11. If they're going to "let people go" sooner than that, you'd see a shifting of schedule hours first (again, my take on this).
Second, our MEC. -This is a public Mea Culpa-.
I'm here to say I take everything bad I have ever said about our MEC. At one point my anger and desdain for it was clouding the reality that back then, they could not do a thing. And with that said I regret ever posting anything derrogatory about them. I take it all back and please accept my apologies.
They may not be as perfect as we want them to be, but when you realize the scope of things they do, the limited amount of time and resources they work with specially when you need them, it humbles a person. And for that, again please accept my apologies.
Anyhow, rant over.
Thanks for your time and have a good day!.
