this...
important reasons....
1) Ends the national debt
all the money spent on the war on drugs is put into better places, and overcrowded and expensive jails are no longer holding petty drug charges. Also, tax revenue on marijuana will bring in billions of dollars a year (look at how much the states make on cig taxes)
2) Makes it safer for those who use it
shady back-alley drug dealers sometimes lace marijuana with other drugs, sometimes causing fatal side effects... government regulation over the growing and distribution of it would make recreational drug use safer..
California pilots... vote to legalize marijuana this November... you are the battleground that can save this country... put "morality" aside and do what's best for the country... /speech
p.s. before anyone asks or insinuates... i don't smoke...

You do realize that if it is ever legalized you still won't be able to fly with any of it in your system correct?
Marijuana is legal in many states (it is still federally illegal to possess it), but employers can fire you for having it in your system even if it is legal.

Impressive!! Your 4th post and already it's a quasi-political rant on criminal justice, legalization of a controlled substance, and flame-bait thrown in for good measure!
This pilot is in a mess, and the story just doesn't make alot of sense. With luck, he'll clear this all up.
But, somebody on here made a seniority comment referencing an old joke, (2 pilots discussing the demise of another pilot, and one pipes up and says, "That's just terrible...what was his number?") and a bunch of sissy-Marys are appalled at the insensitivity...jeez!
Oh, and the availability of pot even though it's illegal is a b.s. argument.
Alcohol's illegal if under 21, tobacco if under 18, sodomy in most states...but all easily obtained...(okay, that last one might require both alcohol and tobacco)....so what's your point?!You really don't have one, do you?
At least Trailblazer's stupid crap is about airlines!

War on pot or not, EVERYone who wants it will get it. But with the "war" we bleed hundreds of billions that we borrow from foreign nations just like our insane nation building in the relentless pursuit of "peace in our time" and defending countless nations and even entire continents for 4 generations and counting.
We're broke brah. Big time. The debt is here, it's real and it's in your face. Playing WWII superhero roaring 50's Brady Bunch Captain America everything we do = Mr. Gorby tear down this wall! is fun as long as you can wrap yourself up in the illusion that what we're doing is even remotely sustainable. The bill is in the mailbox though, and we can't keep kiting checks forever.
Was the post about "moving up a number" flame? Humor? Humour? Like the tootsie pop commercial says, the world may never know. But that kind of "joke" is way too prevalent anytime something bad happens to anyone in our industry to be dismissed as rote fun making. It's said far too often and too reflexively to be dismisses as just joshing. I've seen people grab seniority lists and look with glee when guys go out on medical or even when they lose their lives in the exact same manner they do when guys leave for other airlines and it repulses me.
As for that guy permitting a warant-less search when it appears like he did have something to hide (but even if he didn't) does make one wonder though...did he ever see one of those prime time cop dramas? As in ever, even a single episode? Gees.
Don't have a point? Um, how about an ungodly expensive "war" on something that not only has no effect at stopping or even slightly reducing it, but does that very same nothing for the low low price of generations of billion dollar wastes and international nation building. Not to mention the drug gangs of meheko getting the majority of their funding from the insane illegalization of weed. FWIW, i can't stand weed, have never done it, will never do it, and think anyone who does it is making a bad lifestyle choice. It's not about personal validation like everyone thinks "politics" these days should be about. Two "doctors" testifying to the congressional "experts" on maryjane. One says it ain't no thang. The other says it makes you grow fangs and turn into a bat, and they launch one of the most expensive and ineffective "wars" in history for generations. Sorry, but I gotta lol @ that; it's pretty hard to defend.

Does anyone know how many of these new DCA flights comair will be doing? I just saw the announcement of expanded service on another blog. Delta?s Growth in Washington Smells Fishy - Business Exchange. It seems like there should be at least 50 or so dci flights/day, so is there any chance of a dca crew base if those numbers of flights can be sustained?

You can't have a thread about a pilot possibly on the verge of maybe losing his career without warranting at least some discussion on what it was that said pilot was accused of and if that justifies losing his career in the first place.
I guess we could grunt instead, like:
pilot busted, weed.
i agree, pot bad.
pot not THAT bad.
what seniority?
don't be like dat, main!
ah-ite, soz.
mesa sucks.
thread closed.
But if we're going to talk about it in a forum, which is what this is, I think in the course of discussion and conversation its OK to get a little bit in depth over what it is that we're talking about and that, to the extent here, IMHO is NOT "thread drift" by any stretch of the imagination. It's the whole point of having a forum.
Shipping Dogs
Every now and then I try to help the Pilots-N-Paws organization. Does anyone know what the requirements are to ship a dog and do we as employees get any discount on the shipping?
Thanks guys.
P.S. To those thinking the FO is automatically guilty.....let me add this link for your review.
