I had herd that Comair was also up for sale but did not get any offers that Delta liked at this time. Anyone know if this is true.

No. No one knows anything... and if they claim to know they are lying.

Delta spokeswoman Kristin Baur said that Memphis-based Pinnacle Airlines, which is buying Mesaba Airlines from Delta, considered buying Erlanger-based Comair.
“However, no offers were made by these interested parties to purchase Comair,” Baur said. “We continue to explore alternatives, but we can’t comment further on the potential sale of individual assets.”

No offer, but still....

That is the truth.

Whatever happens will happen, go about your lives and try not to let it bother you.

Don't let management get into your head

I'd say that this is the perfect argument to keep it. This whole series of events came out of no where. So who knows what we might wake up to tomorrow, next week, or next month. My friend at Mesaba woke up and read that they were bought by PCL on the employee site. As always the employees will be the last to know.

Mesaba will most likely have to come up with a merger fund as ALPA national will not provide assets for a merger between two ALPA carriers (that is IF the three groups merge).

Surely JB knows if the company is being sold from underneath him by Delta?!!? And Evilboy says strong rumors of recalls after the 7/4 holiday?!

I did say STRONG RUMORS, and they were from people in "the know". After yesterday's announcement, rumors have quite down a little. The consensus is, "let's give this time". Basically nobody knows what is going on. If anyone in HQ knew about the fire sale, it never got out. Which means if they knew, only one or two people had that knowledge. I for one, think this might be a good thing for Comair. Being a high cost operation possibly prevented DL from selling Comair, which to me means one of two things. 1) They're finally going to get serious about lowering our cost (i.e. try to get the senior people out via buy-outs, etc), and 2) If they can't do so (lower our operational cost), they can't get rid of us which brings a whole new set of possibilities.
