“However, no offers were made by these interested parties to purchase Comair,” Baur said. “We continue to explore alternatives, but we can’t comment further on the potential sale of individual assets.”

Mesaba will most likely have to come up with a merger fund as ALPA national will not provide assets for a merger between two ALPA carriers (that is IF the three groups merge).
To the guys/gals that have been recalled... do you feel management has given you the "full scoop" on what's going down at Comair? Given what happened not more than 2 years ago, it's hard to believe Comair management would recall pilots into a "dead end" kind of scenario. Surely JB knows if the company is being sold from underneath him by Delta?!!? And Evilboy says strong rumors of recalls after the 7/4 holiday?!
I did say STRONG RUMORS, and they were from people in "the know". After yesterday's announcement, rumors have quite down a little. The consensus is, "let's give this time". Basically nobody knows what is going on. If anyone in HQ knew about the fire sale, it never got out. Which means if they knew, only one or two people had that knowledge. I for one, think this might be a good thing for Comair. Being a high cost operation possibly prevented DL from selling Comair, which to me means one of two things. 1) They're finally going to get serious about lowering our cost (i.e. try to get the senior people out via buy-outs, etc), and 2) If they can't do so (lower our operational cost), they can't get rid of us which brings a whole new set of possibilities.
