Comair updates?
True, but it does create an interesting scenario. Many of those who were awarded DRC in the vacancy bid will likely be displaced back to DRF after the displacement bid award. Although they forgo moving days, moving expenses, etc, they do retain reinstatement rights. If there is a upgrade vacancy any time within the next 12 months, they could potentially make a significant seniority leap and upgrade.

Are many people taking advantage of the company paid move? If you get displaced and you weren't a commuter can't you have the company pay to move you somewhere?

I'm planning on taking advantage of everything that I can. I was CVG based before furlough and now going back to JFK, that entitles me to moving expenses right there, incl. 3 paid days off. I'm also going let myself get displaced out of JFK to collect another 3 paid days off and get reimbursed for my drive/mileage to CVG or DTW. I guess that's why I was so surprised to see so many recalls voluntarily bidding and not take advantage of the extra days off and moving expenses. The MEC even put it in the VARS message to remind people of their rights, but I guess that's the problem if you don't know the contract and what you are entitled too...

so i dont have my contract its somewhere in storage.....so here is my question. If your being displaced is there a limit as to how far your moving that the company will pay for? im CVG based before furlough and if i was recalled im pretty sure id get DTW. so will the company pay for my move from Los Angeles back to CVG and than allow me to commute to DTW? just a thought

A pilot who is eligible for Company paid moving expenses may elect to have his move paid from a location other than the domicile from which the pilot is being transferred, to his new location. However, the Company's financial responsibility will not exceed the cost of moving from the domicile from which he is transferred to his new domicile.
Exactly.
since he was cvg based at time of furlough, he comes back displaced to jfk, then sept 4 displaced (probably) to dtw, then he gets company moved (expenses paid) from cvg to jfk, then jfk to dtw. or partial from other than his domicile to jfk, then jfk to dtw.
