I think a few people in the August 1st. class will not show up for various reasons. I hope that people are not sticking it to the company on purpose, the aviation world is a small one and sticking it to the company is not a good idea if your career plans are to stay in aviation. I think the company is going to wait till after August 1st. to make a decision additional recalls. I hope they will decide to bring back all furloughed pilots plus some. If the China flying is true you might see some hiring

The amount of nonsense I have read on here in the past few posts simply amazes me. First, we should all be glad that there are even recalls, I wasn't expecting one for another few years or at all, we can thank the judge who decided to give DL the power to cancel the Freedom flying.

People are not picking the Aug. 1 date to "stick it" to the company or to junior furloughees. What a load of crap. This recall came out of nowhere and nobody was really expecting it. People have prior engagements, jobs or other commitments. They all have the right to utilize the time to make the decision they need to.

If you are not in this round of recalls, have patience and wait it out, there is no point in calculating your odds or playing number guessing games. You are closer to a recall now than you were before.

Some of you guys need to drop the whole "It's all about Me" attitude.

For all the active Comair pilots, please make sure to check the gate areas for Spirit pilots who might be looking for a ride home.

So, I've noticed a lot of recalls are updating their standing bids and are inputting CVG or DTW. Maybe I missed the memo, but why would you want to do that? You are going to get displaced out of JFK either way, you might as well get some paid moving days.

I think that the company putting it out as a "vacancy bid" versus a "displacement bid" confused some people (the companies evil plan to save money for those moving days and moving costs).
JFK Captain and JFK FO should be the only crew bid of anyone in JFK. If you are CVG based, and want DTW, then I could see bidding for it.
One thing that worried me was: If enough senior CVG FO's bid for DTW Captain, and some JFK Captains get downgraded (AGAIN!) to FO in DTW....could this fill up DTW FO spots enough that when the time comes, the lower JFK FO's (just recalled) get displaced to CVG? That would be the point where I would quit (because I don't like CVG and the commute to CVG sucks, and did I mention, I don't like CVG?)

On a related note: Here's hoping that they one day displace the 700/900 fleet to NYC (JFK/LGA) causing many senior captains to leave Comair, which will cause upgrades, which will be goooooood. And I will be among the first to bid 700/900 NYC!

this....

I can see CVG opening as an option for recalls in later rounds... DTW is way too sweet a commuter base in comparison to C-V-Ghost town... expect CVG to become more junior than it is now...

As a Cincinnati native, that's what I'm hoping for

For those living in Florida, JFK is a sweet commuter base. CVG and DTW suck.

Not necessarily. I think it's still too early to say how this is going to break down. I still see DTW comparable to JFK, which was junior to CVG. DTW is a better commuter airport than CVG, but there are lots of SENIOR folks settled around CVG that will stick around.

IF they would move the CR7/9s to NYC, the senior folks wouldn't quit, they'd stay in CVG on the 50 or even go to DTW. You guys need to stop fantasizing of all th senior guys quitting. They will all stay put until they retire or die, no matter how miserable DL/OH will make them!

Very true Spoils.....And BTW Av8tion, the commute from MCO to DTW is just as easy/good as going to JFK. With DL/NW, Spirit (when they come back), and Airtran, it should be just as easy.
