Apparently the June 13th class will be full and they will send some folks home after the first day of HR. Yes, you will be paid until they find a spot for you in the next class. The training outlook showed 12 per class.

Did anyone notice on Epic that a Chinese aviation delegation visited Comair? I hope that DL/Comair isn't brewing up a Chinese regional venture ala ASA and Mekong Air in Vietnam...or if they are that the contract won't be as embarrassing/bottom feeding as the ASA/Mekong T&C's.

Don't worry, it'll snowball into more delays. I think the folks in the first few classes have the best chance of getting send home. Hopefully they'll be smart enough to account for an extra sim when they do the planning for the Sim training, just in case, otherwise everything will be delayed again, but I doubt anyone would care.

HiBob -

I doubt that they are looking for a similar deal. If they were, they would probably be keeping it quiet until all the details were finalized. I think it has more to do with our name, "Comair." Get it? Com-air? As in communist. Just a thought.

If such a deal were offered you know there will be plenty of people that will be interested enough to go. I know that you think this is the beginning of the end of what some consider (I do not) a 'sweet deal' , expat flying. I look at it this way: If people desire to fly and live in a crappy third world country (especially those people senior to me) I am all for it if it will get our furloughees off the street and back into our cockpits stateside.

An expatriate (in abbreviated form, expat) is a person temporarily or permanently residing (and flying) in a country and culture other than that of the person's upbringing or legal residence.
