Yes since the people coming back will be past 1st year pay it will be around 3x what it was. I did plenty of walking over to the grocery store. It doesn't have to be that expensive.

I keep seeing the same questions over and over again that have been answered several times already (like the conference call), so I did you guys all a favor by providing you these FAQs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is Comair recalling pilots?
Comair is expect to fly an additional 200 block hours during June, with flying gradually increasing through November as Freedom Air is slowly exiting as a DCI carrier by September.

When is DTW opening and JFK closing?
Detroit is scheduled to open September 1. JFK will close a few days later.

Where will I be based?
Everyone getting recalled (with exception of voluntary furloughs) will be recalled to JFK.

Will I lose seniority if someone junior to me will go back to Comair before me?
No. Your seniority number will not change. If someone junior to you elects to go back to Comair before you, that does not make him senior to you now.

What and when will I get paid during training in CVG?
Since you are getting recalled to JFK (your new base), you will be entitled to a hotel, per diem and min. monthly guarantee. The company might cut you a check on the first day of training; otherwise you’ll be paid on the 1st or 15th of the month.

What will be my pay rate?
Pay rates are listed in Section 3(A) of the contract. If you got furloughed on 2nd year pay, you will come back to 2nd year pay (incl. contractual pay raises). The time until your next pay raise depends on the time between your furlough date and anniversary date.

How long is training?
The preliminary training footprint indicates 2 weeks of ground school, roughly 1 week of sim training followed by at least 5 hrs. of OE or until you are ready.

Sidenote for those who don’t know the contract: You are entitled to at least 3 days off after the completion of ground school. Also, OE has to be assigned in seniority order. Read Section 11(F) if you want to know about rest and days off while in training.

Am I entitled to moving expenses and paid move days?
Yes, if you are an involuntary furlough recalled to a different base from which you were furloughed from, you are entitled to moving expenses as indicated in Section 6, that includes (3) PAID consecutive moving days.

Sidenote: If you are going to voluntarily bid DTW, you will not be entitled to move expenses. If you get displaced, you’ll be entitled to Section 6.

Do I have to be current and complete a BFR before I come back to Comair?
No. Read your FAR/AIM. FAR 61.56. Yes, Flight Safety is a Pt. 142 training center.

I just mailed my letter back to Comair today, with the "resign my seniority number" box checked. Best of luck to everyone coming back and hopefully my empty slot will lead to someone else getting their job back. FYI, I was a Feb. 07 hire.

Spoilers, very nice. I'll give you all the info on training after the first day is finished.

ComairFO, sorry to see you leave man. Good luck out there and say hi once in a while.

No and No. It''s the Hilton, at Turfway and I-71/75. Near the intersection of Turfway and Houston
