That would be cool - displace 500 pilots over the course of two months, and each one asks for his contractual three move days, which totals some 1500 days off...

In other words, 25 pilots off on any given day during those two months - in addition to regular days off, sick calls, and vacations.

Sounds like standard DCI operational efficiency to me.

You guys get the Council 37 chairman's letter from EJ?

Sounds like ALPA's gonna take a vote on assessments to support the Jazz and Spirit pilots. According to the e-mail, for a Comair pilot making $50,000/year it works out to $8/month for the Spirit guys and $24 /month for the Jazz guys. I wonder if this is for a year (like our merger assessment) or just while they're on strike?

I love this part -

As the Chairman of Comair Council 37 I am asking all the pilots in this council to call or email a status representative and make your voice heard on this assessment, a lack of a call or email will be considered as a vote in favor.

I wasn't around to receive money during the OH strike, but I'd gladly give $24/month to help out another pilot group.

Much smaller base... I think it was 40-50 pilots in each seat when it closed.

+1

If I get recall I'll support it. All they are doing is helping all of the pilot group.

I got the feeling from MP email from last night that a lot of pilot will not take the recall. If you can pick your start date then that leads me to believe they may have about 50% acceptance. SuperpilotJesse maybe right with his acceptance rate, but that is me over analyzing things.

Any of you guys know if you can change your bid as furlough for your desired base? Here's my hypothetical scenario;

I'm way down on the list for recalls and should the recall day come I would like to go to the DTW base (I'm currently a CVG furlough) following retraining.

If for some bizarre reason both bases are available (for my seniority level) I want to ensure I get DTW from the get go. Additionally, I don't want to be responsible for housing while in retaining and not get per diem because I'm 'home-based'.
