Comair updates?
It's not good for the EMPLOYEES for bad news to come on Fridays. HR departments nationwide would agree that in their eyes..the best day to fire someone, is on a Friday for the COMPANYS benefit.
Do it on a Friday, employee can't reek havoc the rest of the week...especially if it's done on a Monday..where it's one of those "we're letting you go at the end of the week" things....
So Fridays = good for company
Mondays = good for employee
Whose best interests do you think Comair has at heart?

I think the next few weeks will be very telling for Comair's future (note..not ComAir..would you guys please stop that ).
Freedom does around 50 departures a day out of DTW, and of course however much out of CVG.
If Delta turns around and gives all the DTW departures to Mesaba and Compass, and Comair gets NOTHING. Then I think the writing will be as clear as ever on the wall. But I honestly don't see this happening.
In regard to the CVG stuff, and the rest of Freedom's routes. This is great for DL, as they get to drop 50 seaters. But those routes aren't going anywhere, I really don't think you're going to see much more capacity cut. Maybe a few routes here and there, but those destinations are served for a reason, Delta won't just drop them. Comair has the airplanes to pick up the slack operationally.(how much are they running now...like 4 hours a day?)
My two cents in this whole mess, but I'm really itching to get back to Comair, and to 2nd year pay..than start over at some other airline at 1st year.
I've been trying to get to other airlines for almost 2 years now..with no luck (hired by 3 in that span..started with none of them for their varied operational reasons).
So I'm thinking that happened for a reason, as it stands i'm a 9/07 hire and 145 from recall. I wouldn't be surprised in all honesty if there are a bunch o' recalls because of these recent events.
Let's hope..we've been kicked long enough!

I think the one thing we can all agree on no matter what our status is with comair or other airlines... Mesa going out of business is good for the airline industry... who gets the immediate benefit of MAG's demise is still up for speculation, but in the end the industry just lost a huge problem and we will all be better off in the long run without them... I just hope the newer mesa pilots don't get blackballed from the industry just because their CEO is a raving lunatic and their union is weaker than the kid that gets picked last at kickball...
