Comair updates?
Not sure why you find it so amazing. I can honestly say I have better things to do than study airline history, read JC Lawson's biography and give a sh** about a company's marketing tactic. To be perfectly honest I chose Comair because their pay in the beginning was not bad and higher than the others, relatively speaking. I also had friends there.
Who cares about insignificant people?
"Being owned by DL" was actually one of the negatives when I researched OH. I have never looked at DAL as a place I wanted to work anyway. I guess a lot of guys come here wanting that, but not me. My list of top places I would like to work (fly) is probably much different than many of the pilots here. But hey, I wish everyone luck getting their "dream job". Really, given the choice, I'd rather just have money and not work at all!
People forget, especially the career regional guys, that you are supposed to look at any regional as a place to work, until you can move on. A few years....then move on (unless this is your "dream job").

Sorry to have put you in a bad mood, LowLevel.
After some thought, if this guy J.C. Lawson and his group at the MEC had been better diplomats, they wouldn't have taken the attitude of shoot-for-the moon because we've got 400 DAL drivers by the short & curlies.
Inextricably linking 1 issue to their demands was pointless.
If they had just said something like, "We sympathize with our ALPA brothers/sisters at Delta, and will make every possible effort to ensure ComAir gives preferential hiring to displaced DAL pilots. We welcome the wealth of knowledge they bring...etc." --THEN-- go to the Delta MEC and say, "now let's talk about this SCOPE, blah, blah..."
Hell, the MEC doesn't decide who gets hired, so make the company shoulder being the bad guy by demanding seniority resignations, or training contracts, etc.
BTW, your thoughts about SLI's and what happens if a wholly owned gets sold are right on! Which is why flow-through agreements are the only way to go...unless you're a lifer Capt. at ComAir when they flow-back...guess who runs ComAir ALPA?

Got drunk while filling out application...
Woke up with epaulets, a sore butt and a funny taste in my mouth!
Isn't that most people's story?....anyone?
Ditto......I also found on the night stand a check for $17.36 with the only deduction being DUES. Go figure.

LOL and I'm sure it's more people's story than they care to admit... let this be a lesson to us all about concessions to "secure growth"

Anyone want to bet delta came to comair with this flying and they told them they couldnt handle it without a long term commitment.

They list 4 new CRJ700 flights per day out of LGA, increasing eventually to 10 per day. Is that enough to warrant a crew base?
Besides, TrailBlazer says Comair will be finished before the end of the year, so why bother displacing anyone to LGA?
