I hear ya man, but Colgan? Hell, most of us were already b!tching and miserable when we were at Comair, and we have decent pay rates and an actual contract with decent work rules, I couldn't even imagine going to Colgan where they have crappy wages and no workrules. No wonder all of my friends working there want to kill themselves. But hey, you'll be a Captain in no time there:rolleyes:

what would it take for comair to recall all its furlougees.

Does anyone know the sim ID numbers at CVG? Particularly the 70/90 sim. I actually logged my sim time during launch for some reason, but never put in the ID number. I need it for an upcoming interview.

Any other Comair guys get called by Eagle?

The CRJ-700 sim in CVG is FAA846.

Not sure what it would take to recall ALL of the furloughs, but to see some movement, I'm guessing we would have to see an increase in block hours, which we have already seen for next month, BUT it'll have to continue to remain steady or even increase more throughout the year in order for the company to recall. If it is only a brief increase to cover flying, the company probably won't recall as it won't be worth it to send people to training.

Out of the 313 pilot How many of those will not come back? I am guess about 30 or so. I'm in the low 200's, I am hopeing to move up this year.

My guess is 70 to 80% would come back. Some have found better things and won't come back. Most of us haven't.

It's kinda hard to wait for things to happen. On the other hand I dont think i could go to colgan and suffer just to fly.

teamdothis 01-25-2010 09:47 AM

I would still love to fly. Im pretty far down on that list to. But for me thats a good thing. It gives me more time to consider a few different things. If it dosent pan out in the next year or two and I got a recall I would take it.

I agree with this as I have debated applying to Colgan the past week or so. After the furlough I was able to find a full time CFI gig that pays much better than Colgan. I've been working on my ATP times (need the X-C! plenty of TT) and told myself I wouldn't leave for another regional w/o the ATP. Now that Colgan and Eagle are hiring I'm debating getting out of instructing again to resume building something other than SE piston time. After getting burned with the Comair boom-bust hiring of 08 I'm very leary to leave a good job only to get burned again. Most likely I remain instructing for another year to get my ATP and look for other options to continue my career should I still remain furloughed, which is very likely as I'm very low on the recall list.
