Did you have to pay a good chunk of it to the tax man? Whoever I spoke to in the GO suggested that the tax rate on vacation pay out was 60% as it was considered a 'bonus'. Was this true when you got yours paid out?

To answer the original post about getting vacation paid out: It is possible at any time after you were furloughed, there is no time limit.

ASA went 5 years before they signed a deal, so hopefully these trying times will no longer be an issue.

Thanks for the info about the vacation payout. I'll let you all know if I find out anything about how much taxes are and things like that.

I think most people are training this week. Most everyone getting recalled is current. So technically they don't need any training. They are giving us a five hour sim to get back in the swing of things.

Since Mesa filed Ch. 11, let's see if the Comairs Higher-Ups dream comes true with Delta dumping Freedom and Comair taking over their flying. Isn't that what they were waiting for quite some time? Kind of sad. IF this will actually happen, I still don't see Comair getting more flying or recalling.

Spoilers, I hope your wrong - however, the latest rumor was that if Mesa did file Comair wouldn't get anything. I wouldn't be surprised if Delta does an RFP and opens it up for bid or simply not replace that lift.

Regardless of what happens with Mesa, I don't think Delta will ever allow Comair to be as big as it was. Delta is most likely thinking many many years down the road from now and Comair is really not all that important to them anymore.

If Mesa going under just takes the heat off our 50-seat fleet, I'll take it....
