Well, look’s like Comair is off to a good start to the New Year…

Just talked to a friend of mine who is a CA for another regional who tried to commute to work from CVG to PHL today, but the flight got canceled!! WHY? BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FIRST OFFICER AVAILABLE!

Yup, properly staffed!

CRJDriver,
I tried to PM you but it wouldn't allow me. So.... here's my question for you. Feel free to PM me or use [email protected] to reply. Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you post a while back about getting your ATP Part 61 while on furlough but with an "expired" written? If so, would you be willing to share the contact info for your FSDO/ person in OK City who gave you the ok. I was in the 11/08 furlough group & am finally going to just pay to do the ATP Part 61, but I took my written in March '07. Anything you could provide me with would be great. Thanks!

That "feeling" may be due to the solid trend Comair has set for the last 8 years.

That, plus there's nobody at the helm and the rudder's been shot away.

Of course they haven't replaced ng4 yet so maybe something's up for 2010?

For some reason my PM function has been disabled by the Moderators, I don't know why.

Yes, I did my ATP Pt. 61 using an expired written exam. Unfortunately I don't have a contact in OKC, because my local FSDO and DPE took care of everything. Talk to your local FSDO and explain the situation. You will obviously need your written and a copy of your furlough letter. I don't understand why some pepple are having such a hard time with this, I guess it depends on how people interpret the FARs, but talk to your FSDO, they should know the answer, and they can always check with OKC. The only thing your DPE will have to do different is complete a PAPER 8710 form, as IACRA will reject your written information.

Thanks for the info! Just waiting to hear back from the FSDO. My DPE is a great guy and will go with whatever I find out.

...throw in contract negotiations going into Fall, I'm sure that won't help either.

yes this is going to be ugly I think. We have no leverage in these trying times.

Does anyone know if furloughed pilots can get their accumulated vacation time paid out anytime? Or was it only for 30 days after they were furloughed?
