Comair updates?
I am glad we eliminated the cruise check; so unnecessary. But, like I said, the arrival check is just wrong. If we run the checklist as written, we are going to be tossing the lights and the seatbelt sign on at 18K. Hell, the lights may even still be on because we forgot to turn them off because of the nonexistent 10K check.
In a way I like the runway change check, but at the same time why do we even need it. If we are relied upon to use "good airmanship" to accomplish the tasks of the now defunct 10K and cruise checks, why do we need a guide to take care of a runway change?
Delta completes sale of flight training academy
December 31, 2009
Delta has completed the sale of Delta Connection Academy to two private equity firms, Lincolnshire Management Inc., and GTI LLC.
The Orlando-based flight training school began operation in 1989 as Comair Aviation Academy as a source of professionally trained, qualified pilots for its parent airline, Comair, and other carriers.
In January 2000, Delta purchased Comair and its subsidiaries, including Comair Aviation Academy, and later changed the school’s name to Delta Connection Academy.
As part of the sale agreement, the school will continue to use the Delta Connection Academy name for nine months, after which it will be known simply as DCA. It will continue to provide flight training for regional and private air services.

Well I got a response from the JB. He said basically we are properly staffed and disagreed with me. Actually we have a hundred extra crews. He also said swing by the GO to find out the bigger picture sometime. Seems like a decent guy. Thanked me for putting up with working on the holidays. Oh well nothing as usual. I think he forwarded my letter to DS and SB. At least he responded I guess.
