Any of the Mesa west coast flying. Obviously if Mesa dies.. that is all that is left to be snatched up by all of the other regionals.

Oh yeah, what Mesa flying for DL out West are you taking about?
The main reason was the cost effectiveness .. it seems that with training costs and so on they didnt want to expand down that road. . But again.. all rumors. I just wanted to see what you guys thought about that.

Whoever though of that rumor was smoking something. Comair management has no interest in going West of the states that touch the Mississippi River. They have stated this before (then again their lips were moving, so you know what that means). They can't even run the small operation we have now, let alone anything 1000 miles away from bumpkinville (cvg).

Regardless I don't think you will ever see Comair fly for anyone but DL, and all the Mesa west coast flying is for US Airway's and United.

Don't get me wrong I would love to Move to Denver, Salt Lake, Phoenix, or anyplace with mountains and less tobacco and smog...but I don't see it ever happening here

Anyways where the hell our the JFK line awards...it is 5pm and I thought they were supposed to be out by the 15th (2 day delay because for some reason we still need paper bid packets)

What Mesa west coast flying?? As as far as I know, Mesa doesn't operate any flights for Delta on the west coast, only UAL/USAirways and I don't see OH picking up any other flying for other carriers!

Mesa does not fly anything for Delta on the west coast.. We all know this... What i was saying is Delta Conx are rumored to be showing interest in that flying. Obviously .. this is a rumor... hence i was asking for everyone's opinion. SO again.. If true - Comair.. Compass.. or Mesaba?!? I personally think Compass would be the obvious choice, but when I brought that up, the remark about the CR9 being more efficient than the ER's at Compass came up. The discussion then went further bringing up the potential for CVG to be shut down.. thus leading to the possibilities of our CR9's to go somewhere... Or .. just be taken away from us. Whatever Delta wants... Delta gets..

I'm still confused about the Mesa flying you are referring to?! Delta is showing interest in what flying? Are you taking about the USAirways flying operated by Mesa CRJ-900 as USAirways Express, e.g. PHX-LGB, SBA?

I'm sure Delta is always evaluating current and future routes and cities, but at this time I believe Delta is more focused on the international market, because that's where the money is.

I don't see any new flying out West or taking over Mesa routes. The Delta Connection flying is unpredictable, and since the merger we have seen quite some shifting in flying and routes which will continue into the new year. I also don't see any DCI carrier opening new bases, Comair won't open a DTW base, nor will Mesaba open a SLC base. Again, the flying is too unpretidticable and changes month to month. Remember ASA's SLC or LAX bases didn't last very long.

And since you asked for opinions, mine is that we won't see any growth on the domestic flying front, only a shift in flying. This rumor doesn't make any sense to me what so ever.

It actually cracks me up...whenever there isn't a post for a few days, somebody has to say/state how quiet it is. So then shortly after that post, somebody gives a nice juicy rumor to kick start the board again!
