Comair updates?
Hopefully I dont get kicked from the forum, being as im a mechaninc and not a pilot at Comair. This site is one of the best places for updates and opininions about our situation..look forward to discussing with you guys.
Naa... you won't get kicked out, it is nice to hear from the mechanics because they provide another perspective on situations that we don't see. H46Bubba is another Mech on here from Comair, perhaps you may know each other?
Ive even emailed when they ask for suggestions to make epic better. Asked them for a forum for employees to discuss..i was told it was too much money to set up.....
Went to the meeting this morning at the GO. The crowd was a lively bunch.(Extreme amount of sarcasm!) Bendo started out right of the bat about nonrev bennies and read the letter from RA. It was a touching letter. He joked about trying to oulast his predecessors.( He must read this forum.) Went over performance numbers. Everything was over goal except for A14. Profit sharing next month should be the biggest so far looking at 6%! (Believe it when I see it!) Still no word on fall schedule, but expect some reductions. No furloughs or more voluntary packagages at the GO. They had over 380 from the last round. Expect more pilot furloughs. Won't have a number till the schedule come out. Will work to keep the numbers to a minimum. Working on a 4 year business plan which should be complete soon (Sometime 1st qtr next year), just waiting on merger completion which should be around the same time. Three more lease returns for the year. Will continue to return aircraft when leases are up. if we get no new flying we should bottom out at 80 aircraft since we own the remaining 50 seater and the leases are not due on the CRJ7 and CRJ9's for a quite a while. New crewroom in JFK. F/A's will get old crewroom. Comair's data center will most likely move to MSP and share space with McDonald's data center. Possible new MRO customer and incresed business from Mesaba. Won't grow MRO to the size like Delta Tech Ops. Costs are down comparable to other DCI carriers if not a bit lower, but not the cheapest. Pilots still the most expensive labor group and looking to work on when contract negotiations begin. That's it in a nutshell.
H46Bubba..you a mech in CVG? Heavy, HGR, Mobile 1?

I agree, you guys definetely have alot of great information to share. Glad to have you.
Funny how the Vage changed business plans 8 times in 3 months to keep up with Delta's uncertainty, and now ng4 thinks he can create a 4-year business plan?
