Sadly, not a one. When over half are gone, in my experience, it NEVER bodes well.

Well Mesaba did start its decline with the bankruptcy at about 950 pilots. 226 were furloughed. At the end of the bankruptcy all 226 were offered recall. I left at about 890 and came back at about 590. There were about 70 of us that took recall. So you can do the math on how many people just up and quit in addition to the recalls that didn't come back. At the bottom I think our seniority list had shrunk to about 550 or so..... That's almost half gone at the bottom, we have been built back up to about 1150, for now. Though that's still not as much as our peak 10 years ago. I guess technically that wasn't a furlough of half, but it was a loss of about half.

As a former 10 yr comair guy who got his parole to NWA and now with the new Delta, I thought I could comment on this. From what Daddy Delta is telling us is that the 9's and 88's are going to return as Queens of the fleet, not my words theirs. I think we have about 15 maybe a few more 9's in Delta colors. Most of them, the-9's, are set to retire sometime in 2013 or 14. As for the 88's I am not sure but they seem to be on the same plan. We were also told that they are trying to find a replacement for the dc-9, most likely the md-90, we should have 3 on property by the end of the year. They were also looking at the "c" series. I am sorry that Comair is such a crappy place to be working at, trust me I know. I did have some good yrs their, but my best veiw of CVG is at fl 350.

Thanks for your input. Best wishes with seniority integration.

I am trying to understand this staffing situation. So I am bored on my second week of vacation and I decided to pull up the reserve list. I notice there are 4 or 5 lucky contestants sitting at over 85 hours projected for the month. ***? I always get stuck with out & backs and readys and never get close to the mythical "guarantee." But I have made $1800/month after taxes the last few months on 3rd year pay. Just living the dream!

I think common sense goes right out the door when running an airline. Never seen anything like it. Oh wait our current president has set the bar high for running something into the ground.

I am finished with my rant. Back to miller lites and vacationing!

He only has 5 months left.

I think the next round of furloughs will happen on the next CEO's shift. Announcement in August for October furloughs.

Well at least I will finally be able to watch Monday Night Football without muting the TV now that Gruden has joined the show while I am on unemployment and drinking beer. Guess I will be joining the furlough ranks by then.

At least the current president is at least telling us we are being run into the ground......on a weekly basis. The "vage" pretty much hid in his plush covington condo or down in florida on his boat.

It costs lots of money to keep life support going. Just waiting for Delta to pull the plug anytime now.
