Can anyone give me a quick tip on how to use Travelnet for a Northwest or other carrier? Is there any way to tell the number of seats when it has the '*' and just a number like 9/9 in the available seat list? And do we list just like a normal DL flight?

Not that I'll be able to get on with my S-193 status now.

Believe when a flight shows 9/9 on TravelNet, for Other Air Lines[OAL], or *,there are that many or more available. The max they will show is 9. If it is less, then that number will be shown. IE:0/4. Think the listing procedure is the same, but I've been gone a few years.

I haven't really had any problems with crews on the 70 when it comes to the APU, but some guys on the 50 are still waiting until 2 minutes prior to start the APU when it is 80 degrees outside.

Please do you fellow employees a favor and start the APU at least before your pax board. Due to the possibility of this Swine Flu pandemic I think it is critical to keep the air circulating in your cabins.

Just a thought.

Im not attacking you and I blame it on the media but this whole thing is absolutely insane. 40 people in the US have it. The US population is 306,000,000.

Thats 1.307 x 10-7 percent of the population!

The symptoms are almost identical to the good old normal flu. There is probably thousands of cases of this but people just think they have the flu. The reason so many people died in Mexico is a lack of good medical care. While cases spread throughout mexico, almost all of the deaths in mexico have occurred in rural areas.

I don't know about you, but I don't like the normal flu either. Also I think all the hype isn't necessarily the Swine Flu itself, but they are fearful of what the Swine flu will mutate into when it mixes with other more common strands of the flu. As you can see it has spread(by means of air travel) very fast. Now have it mutate a few times to the point were normal antibiotics are of no help and I think we will have something to worry about. But why not take a few very minor and easy precautions to help prevent the spread of it. Keeping your pax comfortable in the meantime.

I think the overriding fear is the fact that it seems to be killing people that are 20-40, which isn't normal for flu's..people who are 20-40 generally should have stronger immune systems, and normal flu strains kill children and the elderly. So the fact that most of the victims have been "young adults" is somewhat baffling to researchers.

Antibiotics don't help with the Flu anyway as the Flu is a virus.

Hopefully people who are sick will just not come to work....nothing worse than flying with a sick person for 4 days.
