I guess they figure if you've signed up for the program you probably have some other job lined up and if they stall long enough, you'll just go ahead and leave before they really have to pay you. Does anyone know if the agreement has an expiration date where it becomes void if they drag their feet long enough. A possible issue, by signing the agreement your employment with comair is terminated. However, they decide the time. Perhaps months or years from now after you've decided to stay, out of the blue they say "today is the day" and terminate you. Even if you no longer want to go.

What is the buyout ending up worth anyway? A couple weeks of pay? The flight bennies are almost a mute point now. There isn't even going to be any Comair flights out of CVG in a few month and if there is there will only be very few Comair and Delta flights which will all be jam packed with Deadheading crewmemebers so it will be impossible to get on a flight anyway.
I really hope that this company doesn't screw over the people that elected to take the buyout. I can see it now....
Comair "You are displaced to JFK"
Employee "Damn, I'm not even suppose to be here anymore"
Comair "We need you in JFK"
Employee "Well, Ok, when can I expect a separation date?"
Comair "Well, it looks like we are gonna have to furlough some more guys, so we can't really let you go right now."
Looking back at the Literature on EPIC it said that separations would take place on or before April 10th. Maybe they meant next April?
Sounds like a plan! I'm working on the ingredients for a new drink.
The Comair!
1 part Grenadine (the cheap stuff on the bottom)= junior FO's
2 parts Tequila = the stuff that numbs you so you don't care what's happening around you
1 part KY Gentlemen Bourbon = the GO (cheap and not very good, but still KY)
1 part Peychaud's Bitters = Senior pilots that will be displaced to JFK
1/2 oz. Everclear grain alcohol = Delta Air Lines
Mix:
Add Grenadine to glass
Lightly pour tequila and bourbon onto Grenadine, without disturbing the Grenadine.
Add Peychaud's Bitters
Add 1/2 oz. of Everclear to top of drink
With a match, ignite Everclear
You now have a Comair - a drink that puts a bad taste in your mouth, with a topper (Delta) that if left burning will consume the entire drink until there is nothing left

Not sure about the furloughed guys, but the 55point guys get buddy passes and the EO guys do not.
