Delta will be using about 6 or 7 gates in Terminal 4 because of the expanded international service this summer, especially using the larger A330's from Northwest.

Hopefully they will run busses between a gate in terminal 2/3 to terminal 4, so that people don't have to exit the secure area and go through security twice.

How does Delta change their mind 4 times in six months if performance is the primary criteria they're using?

In my opinion, performance is further down the list when Delta starts playing favorites with their DCI menu.
Again, I say, in the letter from RA he pretty much said it comes down to price, not quality or customer service.

Now, why would they do that? I was talking to gate agents at 23 and they were telling me stories of pax connecting on NWA flights (Terminal 4) and missing connections and lots of complaining going on. They have to take the Airtrain and go back through security. Ya gotta love it when a merger goes through with no thought of how it will run

Haven't you heard? People don't like busses, but they love jetbridges. That's why Delta closed C in CVG (or so they say...). Their story was that we'll only use jetbridges in A and B so people don't even notice they're getting on a CRJ. Seamless Delta service, yay!

Of course, there's too many planes and too few gates at A and B, so they're still going down wheelchair ramps, walking outside, and going up airstairs.
