I do not think a lot of people will take the early out due to the state of the economy. My guess would be a total of 50 people at the most. I’m sure some people are waiting to see what the company is going to do about Long term COLAS and voluntary furloughs and opt for that option instead of early out.

No one knows how many people will take the early out, so the company has no way of giving an exact day of separation, and I cannot blame them for that. I’m not defending CMR or ALPA, that’s just the way it is. On a previous post, it was mentioned that anyone taking the early out qualifies for unemployment income. If that is true, some people might opt for the early out and take advantage of any educational help the government might to go back to school.

Anyone needing more information on the early out program should participate in the conference call today between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm. The phone number and pass code are on the latest issue of FastTrack sent to your company email on January 16th.

I really doubt it if CMR will see any additional flying even if Delta wins the lawsuit and fire Mesa/Freedumb. I think most of the Mesa flying will be part of the domestic capacity reduction and the rest of it will be divided between all the DCI carriers.

Just on a unrelated note, since when do offline jumpseaters take priority over non-revs on Comair?? I was commuting home (for the last time) from JFK last night on a Comair flight. I was just listed as a non-rev. There was a JetBlue trying to jumpseat (who happened to be my buddy from my crashpad). At the end of boarding they said they couldn't get everyone on because it was overweight. So me and Jetblue guy were standing at the gate and they said he gets to go. I said no, thats BS. I'm a pilot for Comair. They said no, you're just listed as a S3, he's a jumpseater, he gets to go. I wasn't listed as a jumpseater and they were going to close the flight. At this point I was a little upset, but held my cool. Anyway I tell my JetBlue buddy to talk to the CA about getting me on. I also went to check the non-rev list on travelnet and also found that an S4 had even gotten on the flight! So I just want to know when jumpseaters get priorty over non-revs. Keep in mind this guy had a seat in back.

In the end it worked out. The awesome CA raised hell and said he wasn't leaving without me, so I went out there and got on eventually. I even told the gate that they had put others ahead of me and I guess she put me on, because she had to. (she seemed ****ed)

But what a great way to have my last commute home from this place.

I may be wrong, but I think she was actually right in this case. Being listed as a jumpseater and a nonrev are two seperate things (I think) and unless you signed up in CASS to ride up front, he had priority over you. But I might be mistaken...

I've had the same experience when non-revving out of JFK (my home airport.) Going to Vegas on two separate occasions did my gf and I miss flights because an off-duty gate agent went up to the computer and assigned seats to themselves and their family over us. Both times I complained to Delta, but could never give them any more info than the gate agent that worked the flight because they (the agent working) refused to admit they an off-duty agent had done so and refused to give me any names. Delta, of course, did nothing.

rumors running around JFK crew room is the additional downgrades scheduled for Feb. will be canceled at the direction of New Guy 23. Dont know about you guys but if half the things they say about this guy are true hes the first good news at comair in year. Jury's still out though.

I would get the names of everyone involved, flight info, crew info, etc, and contact the pass bureau. The jumpseaters are supposed to get last priority, even below S4 when it comes to protocol for boarding (for weight issues), sounds like the gate agents in JFK were out of line. As far as the S4 getting on before you, that's just wrong. I would definitely contact the pass bureau for that alone.

The gate agents have been, and will continue to be the demise of Delta. I avoid ATL at all costs for that reason alone.

Hopefully for all of your sake there are no more downgrades or furloughs. I am asking myself this question. With staffing levels where they are at and with ALL airlines continuing to shrink, airlines still complaining about fuel costs and airport contracts, do I think this job will provide me with even the QOL that I had even two years ago(which still wasn't all that?)

I think all of you as well as your families deserve better. I think there should be nationwide standstill of Airline employees and their families demanding they be treated like Humans.

The gate agents in JFK are useless. In october before I got kicked to the curb I had to deadhead from JFK back to CVG. So check in at ther service desk they say a seat hasn't been assigned to me the gate will do it. So at the gate there were about 5 people deadheading and nobody had an assigned seat. So they board the flight and then tell us we aren't getting on because we don't have seats assigned even though we are positive space. They didn't care we were positive space and were blowing us off. One of the guys there got stuck in jfk the night before so was junior for the deadhead so he was calling everybody got to the customer service manager in the GO who called the ramp tower and said we had to get on. Then the phone rang at the gate and then they put us on. They do what they want unless you go to managers.
