You might not feel that way if you are the pilot being "wrongfully" punished and the predictions are right about Comair going under.

All of a sudden, you have to check "yes" to the question "Have you ever been taken off of flying status?" or "have you ever been disciplined by your employer?"

Your sentiment is understood, but it you might consider rephrasing it.

Here is one suggestion.

Nothing should ever get in the way of safety. Not politics or individual agendas. If we can't protect our pilots, our crews and our passengers, then we cease to live up to ALPA's Code of Ethics.

Unless I looked at it wrong, it seems CVG has no reserves (50 seat) for tomorrow (12/23)---not even RR's! Oh, and there is an over-abundance of Open Time available for this week which better not be picked up by anyone.....

Happy Holidays to all of our loyal customers!

That news piece mentioned nothing of the ASRS system that pilots CAN use to report safety issues. Granted, ASAP is a nice collaborative program to have, but I don't think our MEC would have abandoned it if you couldn't fill out a NASA form for the same purpose. It makes the pilot groups and management look like they have a blatant disregard for safety and that obviously isn't true. Many pilots are safe in the cockpit everyday and will never have to use a program like ASAP.

Guaranteed that any Pilot out there under such a program either has, or will use it...

Lets see...
1) Airline "expert" with no pertinent information
2) Offers his opinions as if they were hard facts
3) Talks in absolutes, no gray area
4) A flair for the dramatic

I'd say he's "aviation expert" Michael Boyd's father.

You're just saying that because Comair's officially proclaimed a major airline.

I guess that's ABC News' way of killing the Comair thread, cause now it has to start over in the Majors section.

while i do see the humor i think technically comair is a major(based on #of daily opperations, fleet size, and pilot group size all of which is being reduced thanks to furlough and Deltas plans or lack there of with comair) not to be confused with a legacy or a large equipment opperator. And while we consider ourselves a regional, and this thread is under the "regional" section of the forums, if you look at the APC home page you will find comair under the "Major" catagory of airline profiles.

A major is defined as having a Billion dollars in annual revenue.. but a "major" also flies planes with 100+ seats... there in lies the gray area that is Comair.
