Comair updates?
P1ayn: instead of guessing the number of furloughs how about applying for a new job? I don't know you personally, but it seems as though you are always very very negative on the direction (and future) of Comair. If Comair is so bad, why not apply somewhere else? We have many people here on furlough who would much rather have a job rather than complain and plot the demise of this company.
I understand from your posts in the past that your were a CA and are now an FO (If I miss understood please excuse me). If things are so bad here, why not go to Netjets? There are still places to go (although limited) that are still hiring. If you feel trapped here at Comair, say that. You remind me of why I hate going to CVG. It seems to all be gloom and doom from senior people who, although have enough hours to go somewhere, lack either the motivation, drive or finantial wherewithal to go anywhere else.
The last option, of course, is that you really don't believe this place is going to close and you are just trying to flame bait.

I heard it from the usual way rumors are heard..from a guy who heard it from a guy

My posts have provided information to assist other pilots in the upcoming events whether positive or negative. Unfortunately, lately it has been more towards the negative. The negative tone you speak of is not provided by myself rather by the company. All I have done is relay the information. The latest furlough rumor that was mentioned I pretty much collaborated with based on my source that has provided me VERY accurate information for the last two years. If you wish not to believe this information, that is your decision. To insinuate that I am spreading doom and gloom and provide negative overtones on Comair; believe me Comair does not require me to do this, they are doing a good job of that themselves.
If it makes you feel any better, not that I personally care, I have been, currently am, and will continue to seek other employment. My goal when i started flying 18 years ago was not to retire at Comair.
In addition, for your ill informed knowledge, NET Jets is also possibly furloughing in the near future but as of now are not hiring. Nonetheless, I do not need or appreciate you on advising me to seek employment. I may not be the happiest pilot here but who is? But I would seek to find anyone who has flown with me that has not had a good time nor can they say I do not promote a professional atmosphere. I may not cherish Comair, but I do have pride in my profession.
I remind you on why you hate cvg? If so, that bodes well for me. I have been in both JFK and CVG frankly no difference, just hate the airport in JFK so you can have it.
Been in this industry a long time and your childish accusation with the ridiculous advise reminds me of the stereotype snot nosed kid that is upset because he/she did not make captain in the 18 months they were advised. If that is not accurate then just erase the 18 months part.
Next time you decide to attack someone with false accusations and ill informed advise, I suggest you gather your facts.
I'm done.
From what I was told; from the same source that has given me my accurate information, There will most likely be more DISPLACEMENTS in the first quarter of 09. Unknown of the exact number.
The reason being is way back when displacements started with fleet reductions, staffing was based with attrition in mind. However as everyone is aware, that attrition is not occurring as the economy suffers. So DL/Comair has to revamp the numbers hence the displacments and furloughs.
Block hours are being reduced and now from what I was told will average bewteen 16k and 17,500 hours depending on season and month. The upside to that if there is one is that it settles and displays some sort of stableness in our block hours allowing comair/DL to re-evaluate the strategy and future.

P1ayn: I'm sorry man. I shouldn't post when intoxicated. I don't blame you for the choices you've made and they are none of my business. Hell, I chose to come to this place and put myself in this perdiciment. I just really need some kind of positive news. Sorry.
One more thing, to my bud who has flown with me several times and just DH in jeans and sweatshirt....NICE! LOL! Im sorry you are getting furloughed, great seeing you today.

We don't like the current state of affairs that Delta is putting Comair through and some of us wanted to look at other jobs with other regionals, cept there is no place to go, so we're sloggin it out here for now.
I say everyone just hang on, try to stay positive and attacks against your fellow pilots are not the way to go. I don't think anyone wants to see a fellow pilot on the street, unless thier unsafe. So let's stay positive, yes I know it's hard, my paycheck reflects that, but look at it this way, you could be LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!!! (SNL GREAT CHRIS FARLEY)
