lighten up Francis
My original question was why would Big D even bother speaking to us about that arrangement?

It sounds like just one CP talking to another. As has previously been discussed, we probably would not be welcomed there by a majority of the pilot group, thus, the probability of their union approving such an idea would be slim to none. As with anything else, I've got to see it to believe it!

The only reason this would make any sense would be to get rid of the "expensive" senior pilots at Comair.
Do I think it is likely? No. I would expect to see a buy-out offered to senior pilots before this.

IMHO, it doesn't matter which regional you go to, it's all a crap shoot. Hell i would have loved to come to Comair and worked, but man, Delta it seems is gving them a raw deal.
Eagle on the other hand is about to be spun off, who knows, with gas being above 3 bucks a gallon and jet fuel even worse the weaker regionals are going down. 2008 is gonna be bloody, I see consolidation all over the place. Thoughts?
When I started this thread it was a simple question, now over 1000 posts!!! WOOO HOOOOO!

Fuel prices are high, the economy is weakening, and the competition is very high. In this day and age companies have to be very conservative to survive. Too much growth and expansion could lead to bankruptcy. I think Delta and Comair are taking the conservative approach to survive in this tough environment. I think Comair is a solid company to work for. Things might not be good now, but the only sure thing in the airline industry is change.
