RAH update

Actually I think an FO is worth 75%. Why limit it to 60? I just have the feeling that the union is going to have a tough time as it is. I want them to focus on getting us trip/duty rigs. Those alone would increase our pay. Maybe not pay rate but I'd see a fatter check and it would also make them start making more efficient pairings for us. We'd get an increase in money and QOL with rigs. High pay in $ amounts doesn't mean jack if they keep making these 3hr days on 4 day trips. It's my opinion that it would be a two fold win where as fighting for a pay increase would only be one. I ran into a captain at mesa, been there 6 years, he was on a 3 day trip with a little over 6hrs pay total. That's what argueing for strait pay gets you. When our union goes in there I want them to give everything they've got to get trip/duty rigs. I've never said I didn't want a greater payscale, I said it's not on the top of my list. Don't put words in my mouth.

RAH does not own any part of Carribean Sun. Wexford owns them.
SJU, STT, and STX showed up because Shuttle flys to the Carib. from Atlanta.
ETOPS is not required for any flying that the 170 can do. You can go to any island in the Carribean and be within legal distance of an alternate on one engine.

The only aircraft ETOP certified through ICAO are:
A300
A310
A320
A330
A350
737
757
767
777
787
Last I checked we didn't fly any of those. There are ETOPS-75 and ETOPS-90 ratings too but obviously we don't have those either. The first E-jets to be ETOPS certified will be the 190's starting in 2008 flown by Virgin Blue. Should also be noted ETOPS isn't just for water it's for large uninhabitable areas which also includes deserts and other barren areas.

For the nay sayers who still don't believe it my seniority # jumped an additional 70 people this month. This was actually double what had been expected. Looks like the pilot group has grown to about 1980 pilots.

Given that Bedford has said he wants to fly 190s, this may have been what the CA was talking about.

Hey, Got hired class of Oct 29th. I have heard that the pilot contract was coming up for negotiation in Oct and I'm wondering if that means it should be signed and agreed upon in Oct or if the bargaining is starting in Oct and might take months?

we're currently in negotiations with the company, and have been for the last few months.
expect that about the time you upgrade we'll have a contract signed.
