RAH update
#121
My hire date was the end of this July and I've got 70 people under me now...not bad I think I've moved up about 30 spots as well. The big question is, how long will this continue. During indoc BB told us they're about where they want to be in terms of number of pilots...so we'll see what happens.
How many pilots does Republic expect to hire in 2008?

Duck,
I here ya, I was really refering to Popa. I understand that sarcasm was involved, but like Duck said, some people who are not in the know may take what you say seriously. That is why they come here to ask and we answer.
As far as comparing how far someone has moved up, I have moved up over 200 spots in a years time, with over 600 below me. Good times. I am very fortunate.

So 198 pilots in 6 months= 33 pilots per month on average leaving the company.
Taking into account the current seniority number of 1985 and how many pilots have left per month the company is hiring right at 55 pilots a month on average.
In 6 months we have grown roughly 130 pilots in size. This is taking the 33 per month leaving into account. For RAH to get to be "saturated" with pilots based on the 2300 number hiring shouldn't slow down for about 18 months if all things stay the same. The same average of people leaving per month and the same amount of hires per month. Once at the saturated level they will have to keep bringing people in as others leave.
It's very obvious to all of us that these numbers really mean nothing. We could lose flying or everyone could jump back into bankruptcy with both feet. However it is somewhat promising to see RAH alone could be hiring solid for the next 18 months and that's if we don't grow any bigger. Personally I'm wanting to know how they expect to retrain all the ERJ guys to fly the bigger equipment with sim space so tight.

Well got the call today... offered Shuttle class for late NOV. Sounds like a plan to me. As for for numbers the HR people said they were looking to hire 500 F/A's next year.... so you can sort of extrapolate some on numbers of pilots.
