Initial Regional FO Pay
Ok guys, here goes...I know this may seem personal, but how much take home pay on average do you make for the first two years of flying in the regionals? I would like to know what I can expect. I have sold my "toys" (motorcylces, trucks) knowing that tough times are up ahead. I know of all the pay charts that are out there on the web, but I would like to see what is really getting paid out there with the per diem, after taxes and all. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've been seeing anywhere from $1500 to $2000 per month (take home, after all taxes and deductions) as a first year FO here at Expressjet. Per diem usually comes out to $400 to $600 per month, depending how much you fly. All this is on reserve flying anywhere from 70-85 hours/month. I know guys who fly as much as possible, and make a couple hundred more. Since I live in domicile I don't really mind sitting around at home, and as such I don't fly as much as I could if I wanted to. The light at the end of the tunnel is second year pay. I have 3 friends here who are on track to clear $45,000/yr on their second year pay. Either way, 1st year is still better than most CFI's get. Good luck!

I bring home roughly $1300 a month guarantee. That's after max federal tax, health insurance, 401K contribution, etc. That's just guarantee mind you. That's spendable money after everyting else is gone. Then I usually get a couple hundred extra because I flew more than 75hrs and then 400+ per diem.
Don't count on per diem though. On reserve you might get a ton or none at all. Here at RAH you have to wait to be called so sometimes you don't break guarantee and don't get that money. However holding a line is another story. I have roughly 80hrs with 15 days off.

I grossed $25k in my first year at AWAC, bringing home maybe $1500 monthly (w/ per-diem) as a bottom-feeding lineholder.
On 2nd year pay I've been seeing no less than $2400 monthly bring-home (w/ per-diem) with some months much higher. That is after all deductions including a 10% 401k contribution.
Not getting rich, and definitely underpaid...but I'm not going broke by any stretch of the imagination either.
