I'm loving it!! They have me moving airplanes from place to place for maintenance and other things so those are valuable free hours. I get to fly my friends around. I am working for the NBAA convention next month so hopefully I will make a few friends and contacts, and my school has already reserved a spot for me when I'm done with my CFI. It's alot of fun. and since I have a family, I'm not in the mood to spend $60k or become part of the herd of the mills. Finding a safety pilot to fly with is one of my only complaints. It's tougher than I thought it would be.
Leo, this is not an attack on you personally. But why in the world would you move airplanes for free? Especially right before/after maintenance, when things are liable to go wrong. God, pilot's are just their own worst enemies. You're doing valuable work that you should be compensated for, and instead you're whoring yourself out for 'valuable flight time'.

hehe, you paid $2500 learning how to do something that a company is going to tell you to do differently several months down the line.
Thinking of training courses, i had a buddy during college who got hired at ASA after taking the CRJ training course, they were nice enough to put him in the ATR.
Leo, i got the joys of moving aircraft back in the day myself...i was getting paid for it (barely) but was always a good time. Especially considering i'd be working on them, then do the test flights before returns to service. Great time, exciting, and "rewarding" if you can say that. Don't do it for free bud, but if you enjoy it, git-r-dun.

Anybody that attempts to better themselves by gaining additional training should be congratulated, if they took the same route as you or not. If someone is applying to a regional and has numerous hours of CFI time, won't they still will need some sort of training to pass the interview. Many of the questions I see posted are related to mach speeds, swept wing, etc. I don't see how a CFI will know these without studying additional materials.

Awww, come on guys. Don't give him too much crap. Haven't we all made mistakes in our lives that if we knew then what we knew now, we wouldn't have made them?
