"Wow the first nice person in this thread!"
Nice? Cause he agrees with your opinion?
That's pretty funny.....
Next time you ask a question, here, expect honest answers from a wide variety of people with a wide variety of backgrounds. If you want smoke blown up your butt (being nice...), you are at the wrong site. No disrespect towards Tuckster for weighing in on the issue, either
I recently had an ATP wonderkid tell me over at JC that APC is "gay" because nobody posts here. I think "nobody", in this case, meant fellow ATPer's who who aren't interested in hearing any sort of negativity towards ATP. If you only want to hear from people who are going to tell you what you want to hear.....again, take it somewhere else.
IMO, RJ courses help a guy get hired a couple hundred hours quicker allowing them to bypass two or three months as a CFI. Personally, I think the time spent as a CFI is much more important in bringing a seasoned aviator to the right seat of an RJ than any RJ course could be. But that's just me....

Congrats Trackpilot
Anybody that attempts to better themselves by gaining additional training should be congratulated, if they took the same route as you or not. If someone is applying to a regional and has numerous hours of CFI time, won't they still will need some sort of training to pass the interview. Many of the questions I see posted are related to mach speeds, swept wing, etc. I don't see how a CFI will know these without studying additional materials.

I'm currently attending one of those pilot factory's, specifically the one up in the hellish frozen tundra of Grand Forks. At any rate, I intend to take the CRJ course they offer here as it is a requirement for my major, but I also told myself that no matter what the airline mins are in a year, I'm going to instruct for at least one more year. Every instructor turned airline pilot I've talked to told me that the knowledge you gain through instructing is priceless. I don't want to fly a regional jet with 250/25. That would scare the hell out of me, and it scares me that there are people out there who think they can handle a CRJ straight out of their multi-engine course. There are a ton of college students who have no respect for the advice of older and more experienced pilots already in the industry, and I find them my best resource. I think a lot of kids think that when someone tells them that flying an RJ with extremely low time isn't the smartest thing to do it's an insult to their knowledge or capabilities. I want to go into my first interview with confidence that I've gained through my own experiences. Anyways, I just thought I would throw my hat into the ring here...

Not really. You can read all about it in a book. You pass the interview based on your merits as a pilot. They will teach you what you need to know in ground school.
