Each company seems to polarize their lenses in a different way. I never had a problem with the Maui Jims's I used to have. They were polarized at an angle as opposed to horizontal or vertically. After I lost two pairs ($150 each! ) I have since switched the the un-polarized Serengeti's. More like $90. The gradient lenses seem kind of cool, darker on top lighter at the bottom.

Look at your Iphone or laptop screen with polarized lenses and you will see the problem. It's sort of a crazy rainbow flicker...

Wow, and after all the research ive done into the expense of many name brands, Ive discovered that non polarized, but 100UV blocking $10 drug store specials work real well, especially if your prone to leaving them in hotels on overnights. Of course mabye at regional wages the price is the best selling point, since I go through about 3 to 4 pairs a year.

I determined the solution to not losing my sunglasses was to never take them out of my flight case!

Like any of us could see traffic from behind our newspapers and crossword puzzles anyway?
