Since ASA has leather jackets as part of the uniform, does that mean they provide the jacket for me or do I buy it???? They already pay fo uniforms but didnt know if they for the jackets, if not do we buy them from a specific company that sells them or can we buy the one that sportys sells...the CAptains Jacket...it looks sharp and you can put your name on it...just curious, not a big deal but just trying to get a s much info as i can on ACEY...

UPS has the same Perrone leather jacket SWA uses except it's dark brown leather instead of black...

I love the leather jackets. They seem more functional and comfortable for the wearer, and bring an aire of aviation nostalgia to the modern age.

I wonder if the companies allow their pilots to add something to the backside of the leather jacket.....
I wasn't thinking a guns 'n roses logo, but something like that.....
or just plain text

that'd be sweet. a nice, anti altereGojet design on the jacket.

I don't know the different companies that make them but at some airlines their leather jackets are the worst thing I've ever seen while others look pretty nice. I like SKW's.

I was thinking about a nice Eddie Iron Maiden Head a la "Aces High"...

Anyway, Perrone makes the same jacket for Skywest and SWA. Only difference is the buttons/snaps. Some buds (former Skywest) in my class had their jackets retrofit with SWA buttons and are all set to wear it.

A leather jacket is now part of the new US Airways uniform. Personally I think nothing looks dumber than an underpaid regional FO wearing a $300-500 leather jacket with those stupid stripes on the shoulders. Doesn't look good at all. They should of stayed with the sport coat, that looks more professional.

Then wear a sport coat if your company allows it.

If RAH allowed us to wear leather jackets, I'd go ahead and get one if it was decent quality.
As it stands now, our only options are to pack a coat or wear the FlasherSuit out on overnights.

FlyNavy, I heard the exact same thing about TSA's jackets. Apparently they were going to go with a new company, but ended up just going to M&H instead for something like a $45 difference in price. I don't know about other people, but I'd definitely pay the extra money if it was a significant difference in quality (which I'm pretty sure it was).
