I guess the proper statement should have been:
"The good things are a CEO who cares (about the company being profitable and successful)."

Overall I have no MAJOR complaints yet, nor do I regret leaving my previous employer. The main problem I have run into is communication (or lack thereof), but I guess that is to be expected when a company nearly doubles in size in the span of one year.

Exclamation

Ya know, I honestly have nothing against CHQ or their pilot group, however I get the feeling that their mentality over there (management) is to just keep whoring themselves out to get the flying, after all, they really weren't ready for the CAL flying, wait I know I almost forgot, we have your 69 planes.................. The problem is management uses that stupid 170 becuase it gives guys a hard-on and they will fly it for ****ty pay so they can put the picture of the ******* thing on their stupid myspace page...............

PS People are happlily flying around in an airplane for 60/hr where almost 10 years ago guys were flying something only slightly larger (DC-9) for what like $190.00/hr????? (old NWA 12yr-CA pay). If people demanded the correct payrate for those stupid things, they wouldnt be at CHQ. they would be at MAINLINE. I talk to so many CHQ, and a few MESEBAH CRJ-900 guys, who are so happy about their airplanes, and they seem to have no clue that those represent mainline jobs and mainline pay. I worry about XJT, EWR is shrinking and at this rate it could take me forever to upgrade............... If a company is not growing, its dying. Our Branded stuff seems, and I say SEEMS to be working out, but lets face it, its risky, our stock is under $4.00 a share and in 08 or whenever LARRY THE BEANCOUNTER gets the chance he very well may take more flying from us, becuase CHQ woould just love the opportunity to fly more planes for CAL, (I KNOW I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO BE FLYING 170's for them) Ok my rant is over, but just remember the upgrade and QOL at a regional can come to a screeching halt, and if it does I would want to be able to at least drive to the airport Upgrade time, goes up and down, contracts go away, blah blah blah, but not having to commute is worth sitting in the right seat at least another 6 months.............

The 175 Captain pay is up there with or better than JetBlue on the 190.

That's not really much to be proud of. Look at the FO pay rate at RAH. Hence, my first post on this thread. If you were hired into the FO seat on that aircraft and the shyt hit the fan, what would you have to brag about?

Not very sound advice to give out my friend. The only thing for certain in the airline business is yesterday. Things change and change fast sometimes.

1. Remember that quote I made about listening to people about your company who don't work there? See above.

2. If you would like to make more money on the 175...you can swing over to Compass....oh...wait a sec...

3. Insert witty comment here.

How much pay does a 175 capt need for it to be proud of? If you are an FO at any regional and shyt hit the fan what would you have to brag about? There's always an IF. In 5yrs at XJT, if using current scale, you're still making $35k a year if stuck as an FO. Same difference here. You're screwed no matter where you end up. It's all pathetic.
