[QUOTE=flybywire44;214510]ASA is a great place to work. The ATR is good times and morale is not that low. Contract? Yeah we need one and we'll get it soon, but you new guys won't care. You're here to get in and get out if you make a little money in the process, great. The people who care are the senior folk and they deserve a fair contract so be sure to support the union while you're at ASA.

Quit sucking the kool aid fountain......morale is as low as I've seen it since the 98 contract. our current crop of management is as bad as we've ever had and when you have 20 year guys going to be F.O.s at World when we use to get World F.O.s transfering here. ASA sucks........... if you want a future.......run away.....far away. the young snot nose f%@#*%@ that tell you "its not that bad" simply have nothing to compare it too. Go and teach, instruct, fly frieght, and get a good corporate job...........hitching your wagon to ASA is a guaranteed failure. I know,,,,,,,,,,,,, 11 years and I'm stuck with a management I don't trust and fellow pilots only looking out for themselves.

Don't do it.

Stick

If you can get past Atlanta's work ethic or lack there of ASA is a good deal. I think its the best regional any of us could hope to work at... Its not like ASA has Mesa's contract.

Thats all I got, fly safe

I want to work for the company its just the commute thats the problem.
You won't have to worry about your work schedule....you will be flying 4 on 3 off for quite a while. Take it from me, your butt will be dragging on the fourth day! 4:15AM duty-ins, 27 minute turns at outstations, 45 minute turns in Atlanta, plane swaps, concourse swaps.......you get the picture. If you are going to commute from MLI or CID, you may find it hard. Those flights are usually pretty full.

Where do you suppose 30-40 captains a month are leaving to?? Why are you still there after 11 years if you hate it so much?? Most guys are leaving after being there for 6-8 years...

Maybe not everyone can leave. Some people are beyond their prime or have personal issues.

Show some respect junior. You don't know jack about this industry yet... keep your mouth shut and learn a little before you go on lecturing senior pilots to leave.

Oh and btw, yes, morale sucks here. It's the worst I've ever seen it in my 7+ years. Everyone is disgruntled. They simply DO NOT CARE about us anymore (and once upon a time they did). We're just a cog in the money making machine. This place is about to implode between the pilots and mechanics not caring anymore.

Anyone who comes to ASA right now BUYER BEWARE!

Um wow...

ASA is my first choice....I was almost embarrassed to admit this given the atmosphere that is created by this thread...

Do you not have the mins for SkyWest? They are a better choice commute-wise than ASA if you live in the midwest.

Dont have skywest mins yet....i didnt call ASA back either. Still kinda thinking about them though. I need another 100hrs where im at in order to get an interview with Eagle. That would be an easy commute from where i will be living in IA. DBQ, CID, MLI, and DSM are all servered by eagle. However i would love to get on with ASA cause of the new contract thats coming among other things. However if i cant commute out of CID, MLI or DSM without a problem its gonna be kinda hard. We will see.
