They are having major difficulty filling classes right now. If you have prior 121 exp. with Mesa that practically overqualifies you. The sim ride is (to me) the biggest part of the interview. They'll record your data when shooting an ILS and use that as a major part of whether to keep you for the next day. Good luck.

are you saying these are additional crews they need... or these are what they need to cover the projected lines.?? If so...that shows an overall decrease in crews needed over the next 5 months......hum.. Real question is of those needed.... how many do they have?

Those are a list of the total amount of crews needed from what I am gathering. If you were to multiple each group by 2 then I guess that would equate to the number of pilots for that specific aircraft. I'm too sure on this though but I'm almost certain.
ASA is needing pilots badly as from what I heard, they are calling all line holders and reservists for trips already beginning on August 1st! Junior manning stinks!
The last email from the Managing Office Chief Pilot said that the classes were slightly under 20 people / 40 per month, but again, but the rumors, we aren't close to filling any of them. The last one was that there were 7 to sign up and 0 showed up! Anyone know if this is fact?

I'm doing my type ride today and all through out training I have noticed a pretty weak turnout on classes. They are turning 2 classes a month in which it seems there is only about 15 people in each class. I have been hanging around Flight Safety for the past two months or so and I haven't really seen that many new faces.
To be perfectly honest I feel that ASA has a pretty good thing going on over here. I talk to people from all over the regionals and besides first year pay I think it is one of the better regionals to work for. Reasons being: They put you up in a really nice hotel for all of training ( 3 months single occupant). I have my own suite and so don't the 20 other people in my class. They pay your full guarantee (around 1500 a month). 19hr 1st year but second year is 34hr which is a pretty good jump. That is all expected to go up when the new contract goes through whenever that may be. They pay for all your training, which is what I hear far superior to a lot of training you get out there. Front you the money you need for uniforms and supplies. Your full benefits start 30 days after hire. In CAAS 2 weeks after hire (jumpseat on ASA when badged). Overall it's a pretty good environment that we are in here.
And no, this isn't just propaganda. Just some inside information that I was looking for when I was trying make a decision on who to go with. All I ever got was the negative side of things.

What I think people are forgetting is that ASA has 900+ scheduled daily departures, thats a lot. With the 1700 pilots we have now we are unable to fill the lines properly so people are being junior manned. Mngmnt wants more pilots and 40 a month (FO's) and 24 a month (Upgrades) are what are projected to help cover the lines so people are not JMed.
Lastly afterburn81 has got it all right. But like I said before you (applicants) need to decided based on your needs if ASA or RAH or XJET or where ever is right for you... you can't base it on what people say makes XYZ better then ZYX.

i will give you a fresh perspehrctive...I had my interview today and ASA is legit1 I passed the first day Tech/Test/Paragraph essay..tmorrow is the sim ride. They had 8 guys blocked for the interview today, only 3 of us showed up and me and the other guy got through. Not all that tough of an interview...no systems ?s really....mostly Jepp plates and enroute charts....I really like these guys and hope all goes well tomorrow because upgrade is going down to 2 years and there is no reserve right now ...maybe a month at the most....great company with a good history....hope this helps!!

I heard that their hiring down to 350 total now. I'm thinking about applying there when i get the hours. But i really don't want to live in ATL. I've heard nothing but BAD things about that place....
