Yep, my student wanted to try out Sky Harbor rather than the age-old Deer Valley run, and I couldn't argue, so off we went! When were you here last?

That must have been an exciting experience. Did they boot you out fast and send u right out or did you get to mingle with the jets?

I bet it does seem like forever. I have done patterns at Oscoda which is a 12000 foot runway and going missed put me at traffic pattern altitude about half-way down the runway. I flew out of PTK for three years and then I instructed there for 8 months. Great airport. I think I have flown my last Warrior and Cessna. I start CRJ training with Mesa on Monday. (No flames please, I know all about how people on here feel about Mesa)

I think Deer Valley may be worse than PHX depending on how many of the Pan Am guys are in the area at the time. Nothing like a busy class D airport with a bunch of students who can't understand english.

I left in 1990. I have been back a few times and didn't even recognize the place. I used to be a bellman at the Sheraton and now its a casino

Looking forward to returning. Taking the kids to the Grand Canyon soon, will have to stop in PRC for a visit and a Whataburger!

Sounds like fun I flew into ATL in the seminole with a comm multi student last year, but we landed there at about 0100 in the morning. No traffic at all on the way in! We landed on 8L, taxied on Dixie to the ramp, taxi took about 1 minute. Landing fee was 6 bucks, ramp fee was 40, which was waived when we got fuel (EXPENSIVE fuel, but that was expected.) We left about a half hour later, I had him do the runup on the ramp, and sure enough, we taxied out in front of a DC-8 and a Hawker. They cleared us for takeoff when we were halfway down the taxiway

a better disclaimer is the landing fees at most class B is at least 30 dollars and that is if you just do a touch and go, if you require the assistance of an fbo then you are looking at upwards of 100 dollars
