iPilot, eat for God's sake. I ate a granola bar at 5:30 am for my 9 am interview that went until 2:30 p.m. You must be coming from the west if you have a 1 pm interview. Eat a good meal when you get there.
WP, the interview is very short and long at the same time. You sit in a classroom with all of the applicants filling out paperwork. Applicants are called in one at a time for one of the three short interviews (tech, jepp, and HR). The HR interview is always last, and most important. All 3 interviews are very short. However, you will spend hours in that classroom. Good luck!

Suppose I get the offer on July 17. Once in training how long till your CAL and CAL Express Travel privileges kick in? Same goes for medical and dental benefits. Also, can you jump seat express jet and/or CAL mainline with the temp ID badge since it is a subsidy of CAL MAINLINE until you get the permanent ID badge and CASS clearance?

During training, you have the option of going home on your days off. They will positive space you home and back on XJT or CAL, depending on where you live. Positive space means you are CONFIRMED on that flight. Jumpseating is up to the Captain of the flight, but if you are going positive space, you don't need it.

To my knowledge you cannot jump seat until you pass your ride AND have your company ID badge. Medical and dental is 90 days after start date (class date). Once in training, have fun while your there, some guys studied non-stop and over studied. Go home or go out on weekends and have fun while in class. Lost 3 out of 16 in my class, 1 in systems class and 2 more in the sim. Don't worry these guys were not the brightest crayons in the box. Once sim starts who knows what your schedule may be. Mine was 7-10 pm, I think or 7-11pm cant remember. Once done with the sim and check ride, you get your ID, I had to wait 2 weeks because they were all backed up. I also waited 4 weeks (AFTER check ride) to start IOE and 3 weeks to find out what my base was. Hope this helps!!
Oh and to my knowledge CAL doesn't own an ounce of XJET stock anymore, so we are no longer a subsidiary. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Read the stuff on aviationinterviews, what was done is posted there.
I found not much time to do anything other than the interview process once in the classroom, but my interview was 1 PM. Filling out paperwork took a good chunk of time, and I was the last one to be called. After that was fingerprinting and whiz quiz, BTW, eat and drink something BEFORE the whiz quiz. The huge blocks of time used between that, security, and getting to the gate meant not much was left to grab food and board with the 9 PM flight.

They've got me flying in and out on the same day. :-P I booked a hotel room in Phoenix so I don't have to drive an extra 1 1/2 hour that morning. I'll probably stay with a friend when I get back too just so I'm not driving after that kind of day. I'm really hoping they get me done early so I can try and get an earlier flight back to Phoenix!

Hired Today!
The gouges are pretty much right on. It seems like it is more of a personality interview (can they stand flying with you). The technical interview is really straight forward. For the Jepp interview review the Jepp chart legend. And just be yourself in the HR interview. My interview started at 9 am and I was out of there by 12:45ish. Good luck to everybody else!
